Co-op £100 switch incentive is back

Dammit
I knew I should have switched away a while ago.
Been with them as my 'main' honestlycurrent account for over 40 years: too late now to bag their switching bonus
Only closed it 3 weeks ago (still have NatWest and HSBC as donors), but it took them until this week to confirm it's closure after some issues with the linked savings account.
Probably a bit too early to re-apply, although may sound the branch out (we have one in our local supermarket) and see what they say.
Just a word of warning to others, I and many more people had to raise formal complaints last time they ran such an offer in order to receive the £100 (and a bit of extra goodwill)...so prepare yourselves because their admin is not the best!

Hi, I setup 2 standing orders on my Natwest account and 2 SO on my wifes Barclays account. Both were not being used for sometime.
Visited Co-OP branch and arranged accounts to be transferred. It was all straight forward. They said account switching completion date will be 13/02.

Cheers for this, applied tonight
I did try for the Halifax £100 as I have an unused Reward Account in my sole name but my RBS account is in joint names.
Been tying for the last month to convert to a sole but despite jumping though all the hoops nothing happens and of course nobody knows anything....
At last I can get the £100 and ditch RBS :j0 -

Why not open up a secondary current account and setup some DD/SO and use that to transfer to Halifax. I have done that and its easy £100 + £5 Reward payment.0 -
I had a dormant "Britannia" account which I "switched" to last year (for £100) - never used it as my main account so I called the Coop up today and have kicked off the switching process to that account and have confirmation I am eligible for the £100 offer
EDIT: Existing customers need to switch by phone - took about 15 minutes and the handler was friendly enough.0 -

Yay, I could use some easy money after these ridiculous interest rate drops. Set up 2 SOs on one of my now-useless FlexDirect accounts and applied.
I took advantage of their £200 switching reward a couple of years ago, everything went well with that. Their online banking was a bit crap back then but might be different now. Had no problem with them but also no reason to stick around, since Lloyds TSB offered 3% interest instead of 0%.0 -

Just applied for an RBS Current Account a few mins ago and was approved. A/c should be live in two days. Once some DDs are transferred I'll try for the Halifax £100 too.
£100 from Halifax + £100 Coop + Childs new iPod
Cheers all!0 -
Hi,
Apologies if this has already been answered and I've missed it, but does anyone know if they make you actually CLOSE the account you are switching to them?
I too have the FlexDirect but I think it has a few more months left to run on it of the higher interest rate so would prefer to keep it open until that has expired.
For the Standing Orders, can I just go into the FlexDirect and create two SOs to another one of my own accounts with a different bank for, say, £1 each?
Will they make you switch ALL of your DDs and SOs or can you be selective?
Thx in advance.0 -
