I have an actorly-type staying who goes home every weekend, desperate to see his nine month old baby, five year old daughter and wife. OH is due to be whisking down from London tonight as far as Exeter for a meeting tomorrow morning. Both chaps are booked on trains, which I've just heard are now not running much past Bristol.
I'm totally in awe of the workers who have been slogging it out over the past six weeks in the most appalling conditions to keep people connected in every sense of the word. I am in despair about the shambles that has already developed, much less how much worse it is going to get, as yet another gale is blowing in.
Hugs for everyone working through the storms. Your efforts are appreciated by everyone affected by the weather.Better is good enough.0 -

I agree, Honey Bear. The weather is unpredictable and uncontrollable. I've been out shopping this afternoon in a strong wind and rain, but it's nothing compared to what the emergency services, Network Rail and the others have been coping with - let alone the farmers who are trying to keep everyone supplied with food. Thanks to you all.
Hope your lodger and OH somehow get to where they want to be.0 -
Was quite pleased everything was done for the weekend then discovered outside drain was blocked. Oh joy! All done and glad that's sorted. Not the nicest of jobs.
Had a trip into town and got DGD1 some clothes. Spent some more of my book tokens.
Hugs,spoons and sticks where needed.0 -

Had a lovely evening out at some friends. It is so windy here now, glad I choose to drive rather than walk (I'm not fussed by drinking so not a problem).
Taking DS3 indoor skydiving tomorrow as his birthday present, hope he really enjoys it.
Washing on the maiden and nearly all the school shirts ironed so quite organised. Still need to do the shoes. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Up early this morning - very early, far too early - so have dealt with some paper frogs. Now going back to bed for an hour!
