Hi all, towards the middle of this year I will be retiring from the rat race. I would have been at my employment for about 3 1/2 years by then. Over the past 18 months there are one or two people that have been a pain in the backside to say the least.
On my last day I want to send an email to all staff thanking them for their help and friendship, but I also want include the fact that there are a few who have been T***S. and I intend to name names and the fact that amongst other things they have been bullies, liars and vindictive. I want to name the people so that it will bring major embarrassment to the culprits. Now, my question is I KNOW that everything I am going to write is true but where do I stand legally?

I understand where you're coming from shezza, and I haven't read past the first few posts of this thread, but in my experience, the types of people you describe have a predictable ability to deny deny deny. It's part of their nasty make-up.
I'd be very interested to see how this one turns out if you do email!

It'll make you look pathetic. Move on with dignity.

Thing is though, it's very galling (understatement?) to watch bullies/liars etc. 'at work' in the workplace and see them making people's lives miserable and always getting away with it.
My instinct is always to expose and to stop it happening to others but the outcome is rarely good..
The whistleblowers and good eggs are usually the ones who get ousted subsequent to people speaking out, and the bullies remain like armour plated cockroaches.
It's very interesting to see all the 'what bullying?' 'maybe they just don't like YOU' type comments - I wonder would these posters be workplace bullies themselves...... because those are exactly the type of reactions such bullies specialise in. ;)

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

Erm no, it isn't. Have you read the thread? I had already posted before that.

I'd suggest you read my poem and then revise that comment.

Op, why don't you listen to the advice being given. Raise a grievance and present your evidence. That way you will probably still be around to see the outcome.

Of course, I forgot. You just want to hide behind a mailshot. Silly me. Why did I bother wasting my 4,900th post on this?.

To boost your post's me thinks.
  • Be a man and tell them to their face before you leave (or raise an official grievance).

Once you go your email will be of absolutely no consequence, you'll just be a moaning old ex-employee.

It's very cowardly and whilst it may make you feel good for almost five minutes you'd probably wish you did it officially to help those in the office when you leave rather than sending a pointless email that won't help anyone.
