look at Daligas for gas and isupplyenergy for electric very good tarriffs, not sure on customer service, but you tell them last years usage from your energy statement and then they set you up a dd based on that, both on a years deal daligas tarriff is 3.3075 includign vat and isupply is 11.35 inc vat, will save me £110 compared to Edf lastest blue price promise. I put both of these into edf quote and they say i am on great deal, worth a look
  • There does not appear to be a competitive quote
Whilst gas prices down slightly electricity prices have gone mad!
Isupplyelectricity is £39 more expensive than my current EDF deal
Whilst Daligas is about £30 cheaper
This means £10 more expensive over the year
The cheapest cheap fix (dual fuel) is about £60 more expensive with Ovo
    What to do??
  • Both companies have poor customer service reports
Ovo is supposed to be very good but more expensive

We'll not impressed with OVO so far. I sent them an email Monday 8am asking a few things and still no reply. If that's their sales team response, I wonder what their customer service response is like???

As holding measure I have registered for EDF to switch me to their 30/6/2015 fix when my current deal ends. As no cancellation fee it gives me a fixed base position (avoiding being switched to variable) from which to seek a potentially better deal/fix when my current fix expires.

OVO still haven't replied after a week - not a good start.

Anyone got any other suggestions? Scottish Power seem to be the next cheapest. Staying with EDF is really rather expensive, even on their 2015 "Fixed".

They really should reply but why not give them a ring instead? Perhaps the email got lost somewhere.

I'm currently switching both mine and my parents energy to Ovo. Can't fault the communication so far and the DD has been set at exactly what I was expecting them to do according to usage.

I switched via energylynx ( for the £32.50 cashback) on 16th February and received a letter from Ovo yesterday to say the switch should happen on the 19th March. Previously received an email from them a few days ago confirming our application and telling us to took out for the letter.

I have been able to login to MyOvo and see the progress of our applications which are both still in the cooling off period.

So, so far so good really.

I applied yesterday to switch to OVO 12 month fixed tariff, with the 4 to 5 week switching period reported on here it could go through in the 1st week of April.
OK I could have waited a few more weeks to maximise my lower EDF tariff period but the OVO offer is far better for me than anything else showing on the cost comparison sites, so I was concerned that the fix at the current tariff may not be around much longer.
The extra cost on my energy consumption is around £9.50 per month but I should get £32 cashback as I switched through the Topcashback site.

I am too about to come out of my EDF fixed term but as the milder weather is coming I will wait and see what happens.
