    Ovo confirmed receipt of switch application in one working day: so far so good: awaiting welcome pack.

    Which tariff did you switch to? The 12 month fix or until June 2016?

    @ih8stress - sorry if my post wasn't clear -its not cashback of £80 -the nett increase will be about £80 after Topcashback £31.50 thru SimplySwitch.

    Thanks, brewerdave. Hadn't read it properly, just saw £80 and cashback mentioned. (Teach me to read slower next time).

    Incidentally, just been on topcashback - have you read the poor reviews for simplyswitch?

    Im with you lot trying to decide what deal to chose with the edf coming to an end.

    Ive had a look on cheap energy club and im a bit confused. this is what i got.

    OVO = save £111 a year
    SC = 56p
    Electicity = 11.4p
    Gas = 3.6p

    British Gas = save £83 a year
    SC = 52p
    Electricity = 10.6p
    Gas = 3.8p

    Out of the two it says OVO saves me more in the year buy there Standing Charge is more and so is there Electicity KWPH !

    Im i missing something?
    The prices from OVO may have £60 a year deducted for managing the account online.

    I thought I would put the unit and daily standing charges up

    EDF blue fix 2017

    Gas standing daily charge 26.25p ,,, per unit 4.055p

    Electricity daily charge 18.90 ,,,,,,,,,, per unit 16.01

    OVO 2 year fix 2016

    Gas standing daily charge 27.990p,,,,,,,,, per unit 4.06p

    Electricity daily charge 28.770p,,,,,,,, per unit 14.669p

    my quotes

    OVO June 2016 £1442 per year

    EDF April 2017 £1522 per year

    £80 more a year for EDF,
    But EDF covers 3 years , where as OVO is only 2 years , with OVO I would need to find a deal in June 2016 that was no more £160 more for the 3rd year , or there would have been no point in switching away from EDF !!!!

    Probably switching to ExtraEnergy rather than Ovo - £1pa more expensive than Ovo for me but ExtraEnergy tariff is fixed till September 2015. ExtraEnergy does not seem to appear on all comparison sites - I went via Energyhelpline.com
    ExtraEnergy v2 Sept 2015 tariff is only £60pa (c4%) more expensive than my current EDF Blue + Price Promise April 2014 tariff....

    The former. The 2 year fix comes at a considerable premium, and anyway I don't want a 2 year lock-in with the £50 ETC on this tariff.

    Put the figures into a comp site with your annual kWh usage and postcode and you will know in less than a minute.

    Better all hope that Ovo doesn't now get totally overwhelmed by a tidal wave of new customers from EDF ! :eek:
    Others have said they were contacted next day.
    I applied to switch three days ago, nothing yet so it could be happening.

    For people going with Ovo, are you choosing

    A) 'Cheaper Energy Fixed' tariff which is managed COMPLETELY online (otherwise you lose the discount of £30 per fuel per year)

    or

    B) 'Better Energy Fixed' tariff which is managed over the phone

    I'm wondering what happens if you go for the first one and need to ring them at all? Looking at the t&c's it states

    "We realise that there may be times when you cannot meet the conditions of the discount as a result of circumstances beyond your control. In these cases, senior staff at our call centre may agree not to enforce the above conditions".

    Also found in the t&c's,

    if you move house you will have to pay the cancellation fees as the tariff does not move with you.

    With regard to the 3% interest reward scheme,
    "If you make a significant overpayment into your customer account, then ask for that amount back within six months, we will reclaim any interest reward you have earned from that amount".
