I suppose if you know when they are coming you could take a 'before and after' photo for a few weeks. That's if they're doing it regularly. Of course if they come first thing (as ours do) then they'll say the extra rubbish appeared between you taking the photo and them arriving.
They're now turning around and saying that it wasn't black bin bags but because our bin weighed too much. Too much in they're terms is 40Kg for 360L or if it doesn't shut. Our bins shut completely and I do not believe that they are overweight. When I asked how the driver knows how much it weighs, they simply said its their job.
I can't afford to pay these bills off and I dont feel I can let all that money go to a company who will continually ripping us off.0 -

My friend has been told he now needs to return this Transfer Note, they have written they want to charge him £124 for the admin and noted it isn't for the note (this year, last year implied heavily it was for the note itself).
What can he do? we both now he can get one for free but they are insisting it needs to be returned and for him to be charged this £124. Anyone else any ideaS??Help me to help you :santa2:0 -

Typical that they do this just as they have 'persuaded' us all to fill out Direct Debit forms!
My letter arrived this morning, and I confess I hadn't read it properly. But it says the same as yours.
I wish I knew what to do about it. However, when I cancel my contract I shall be telling them exactly why.
It's almost as if they work out what it costs to deal with the rubbish, and then double it, and THEN slap an admin charge on top for the least little thing. You might not mind so much if when you phoned up they were polite and helpful - but they're NOT! Or you might not mind if it covered you for the year, but then when there's a £15 admin charge here for this, and another one here for that - it's beyond a joke!
The letter does say they'll pass our name to Environmental Health if we don't send the note back, duly signed. Not sure what EH would do if you can produce a duly signed contract (we've had them in to inspect our records last year) but they'll still charge you that £124.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

yeh I was sent the waste transfer note request a few days ago too.
It says you have until the end of feb to return it before they report you, but I'm leaving on the 1st april. I'm not sure if the name can be changed once I change companies.
How can you get it for free? I read here(Read: 15 Feb 2007 13:55 Anthony Biggs') that it costs £18 but I cant seem to find it on the link given.0 -
I thought it was avilable for free from Enviromental Health website. HOWEVER
I have spoke to Trading Standards and they have a person who knows all about Wastetech. With regards to this Transfer note it does say it isn't £124 for the note but for the admin for filing the note!!!! What you should do is fill in the note return it with a cover note explaining you dispute the £124 as an unreaasonable amount with reference to the average collection charge for your contract and an unreasonable change to the terms. THEN you have to offer what you consider a reasonable amount to be ... which is up to you to decide...Help me to help you :santa2:0 -
you must fill in the note otherwise you will be in the wrong and send everything recorded delivery.Help me to help you :santa2:0

I've just read on the following on 'netregs' for those who are in the same situation as me.
You must create a WTN for each load of waste that leaves your site. For repetitive transfers, you can use a 'season ticket’, ie one transfer note will cover multiple transfers over a given period of time of up to 12 months. However, you can only use a season ticket if the parties involved in each transfer are the same and the description of the waste transferred remains the same.
However i still cant find anywhere to purchase a WTN, I have only found a pdf of the actually form you can fill out here0 -
Thanks Robert, I will talk to our most legalistic manager. Since we plan to leave in June, I'd have thought anything more than £50 a rip off, but she'll probably talk me down! I've no doubt they'll take it via DD anyway, but we can try.Signature removed for peace of mind0
