Aw here we are aren't we! Lots of lovely comments, thank you thank you thank you xxxx
Hi Muffin! Lovely to read you, thanks for posting xxx
Parents went to see my cousins this afternoon, to help sort the eulogy for my aunties funeral this Thursday. So lets just look at that sentence again. And gain perspective.
Not in a hurry to belittle or push what's gone on under the carpet...but by the same token, my 3 cousins are burying their mum on Thursday and in the space of a month have become orphans
So whilst my parents were out I stayed in and waited for the police to come round again. They were really good, again, and tied up a couple of loose ends.
So we're waiting to hear from them now to see if they catch anyone but I honestly doubt it. Insurance rep coming tomorrow.
Don't feel anywhere near as nervous going to bed tonight as I did last night - but oh my word I'm so tired!!!! Going to have a relaxing night and watch The Commitments
Oh.....I did start a general thread on the forum asking for any info re: being burgled and received lots of supportive replies. But I had one really horrible reply from a complete idiot. I've reported it.
Should have known better and think I'll just hide in here for a few days before re-emerging!!
Meantime we're doing OK - am so so sorry to hear about your experiences, can't believe how many of you have been through this too. Its vile and its not our fault. Despite the crappyness of our burglary experiences you have made me feel that I will be OK before long. Thanks Divas xxxxxxxx

Hi Slinky,
If it helps my wobbles aren't too bad anymore. My house was burgled during the day (around lunchtime) and the house, particularly my bedroom, was completely trashed. So I was too scared to even go into my bedroom for a couple of weeks and I could only do the clean up in short bursts. After I felt I'd taken some action and regained a little control I was able to take small steps forward. So within around 4-5 weeks I considered myself a fully functional adult again!
But, on a more positive note for you, I live alone and don't have anyone around me who could help me in any way. When my sister found out about it (she lives just down the road from me) she laughed so I think those things put a little delay on my wellbeing. With all the love and help you and your parents are getting I'd love to think that you'll shine through this much faster than I managed to. I still have the odd wobble, but it's not debilitating like it once was.
The biggest improver for me was definitely taking action and having that added security in the house. I absolutely love my little screechy security guard. The only thing is, he's shown he has a major fear of spiders. My alarm went off at 5am on one of my days off and I was half way down the stairs before I was even awake! It turned out that a little spider had wandered onto the motion sensor and set it off! It did make me laugh when I saw it. That alarm translated was probably something like "Ahhh, it's on my eye! Get it off. Quuiiiick get it off!!!":D
Oh also, some of the people who write posts on here are despicable characters. Whatever they said to you says everything about them and nothing about you.0 -

Aw thanks for the nudge IND!!
As you predicted I've had a couple of low days but we had a phone call last night - dad's car has been recovered by the police!!
He will get more info tomorrow - we're not sure what state it's in but we do know it hasn't been burnt out.
So will give full update tomorrow. We're still having trouble sleeping but we're slowly getting there. Meantime IND has given us Divas huge inspiration to post some fab tunes in here.........
So come on gals, '60s girl groups!! Let's have your faves please?? Much as I love the Ronettes, The Shirelles and of course The Shangri-Las, I've got a massive soft spot for these ladies: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sH2oI2H2lGE2014 Frugal Living Challenge
