I used to live in a little village that only had two buses a WEEK - one on a thursday, one on a saturday.

The job centre will only stop your JSA if YOU have given them reason to do so. It's called taking responsibility for YOUR actions.

If YOU turn up late then only YOU are to blame.

So if someone's bus or train is late they are to blame? Services out in the countryside tend to only run every two to three hours. As for catching a earlier bus, the person who is signing may already be using the first bus or train of the day. My nearest Job centre is 18 miles away and requires either three buses or two buses and a train.

As for food banks, your limited to three times a year and it is only three days supplies. Plus the cost of getting to the food bank in first place. Food Banks are rare in the countryside.

And for the record I'am in full employment,

You cant ask your advisor for a later appointment time? My job centre is twelve miles away and I walk it.

And for the record, I am a jobseeker on JSA

You walk 24 miles each time you sign on?

That must take you 6-7 hours?

    I do, I like walking :)

The only time I don't is if it is heavy rain or really stormy.

I hate just waiting around my house until it's time to leave to go for the train.

I've also seen quite a few job adverts in shop windows, that I wouldn't have seen from the train.

So how long does it take you? What time do you sign then?

What if you have to get there for 9am?

I sign on at half 11. So I leave at half eight.

If I had to sign on at nine. I would leave earlier

Why don't you get a bus or train?

I'm happy to walk it. It's not as if I'm doing anything else during the day

And it gets me fit and saves money

I find that odd. Hours wasted walking when you could be applying for jobs an sending letters to people. Lets hope you don't need the loo in the 24 mile round trip

Food banks, welfare support from your local council. There are always ways to eat.

If YOU fail to meet your job seekers agreement, YOU are to blame.
If YOU fail to turn up to an interview, YOU are to blame.

Thats !!!!!!!!. Some advisers will sanction you for the flimsiest of reasons (eg: not applying for a clearly bogus job). Not every adviser will do this of course - but there are always people around that think they are more important than anyone else, so will do anything (even if it is wrong) they can to prevent themselves getting into trouble.
As a claimant, you are then without any money until the decision-maker has made their decision after you appeal against this sanction. How do you live in the meantime? Entirely feasible you may be forced onto the streets if you don;t have any children and are evicted by your landlord for not paying your rent because you don;t have any money coming in.

Suddenly the comparisons to Nazis aren't so crazy, are they?
One dodgy adviser can cause all this hardship to an innocent person, for no good reason whatsoever.

I'm sure this situation has happened - and more often than anyone would wish, too....
