Job Centre checking on interview?

Lith,
I get offended when people compare others to Nazis as well. Perhaps I could explain why, and you could think about it?
When you say 'job centre staff = as bad as Nazis' you are also saying 'Nazis = as bad as job centre staff'.
I'm not offended by any insult meant to job centre staff. I am offended by the casual dismissal of the seriousness of Naziism.[STRIKE][/STRIKE]I am a long term poster using an alter ego for debts and anything where I might mention relationship problems or ex. I hope you understand

I can't understand what all the fuss is about here.
He didn't get the job. He didn't ask for feedback. So the JSA said they would do it. What's the problem? The reason he didn't get the job might be something he can improve on - it will be to his benefit to know why he didn't get the job.
I too take exception the JC being called nazis..... they are people trying to do a very difficult job and have to suffer all sorts of abuse. And also it trivialises the real suffering that went on under the real Nazis.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -

you have your money stopped for a minimum of 2 weeks, not one penny for food or heating because you were 2 mins late for an appointment or any other number of daft reasons these people come up with to hit their targets and you too may change your mind.
Having no money for 2 weeks because some sad adviser wanted to hit their sanction target for the week is worthy of being called a nazis in my book, in the sense they are claiming to be only doing their job, but when that job is withdrawing all of someone's JSA then I think the name is perfect for them.0 -

Turn up in plenty if time then. Do you think you would get away with turning up late for work?0 -

yes, and even if you didn't get a away with it, they can not stop your wages for 2 weeks or sack you, but that argument is daft anyway as benefits are ment to be a safety net, even murders in prison by law have to have 3 meals a day.
fit the punishment to the crime, 2 mins late for an appointment and no money for 2 weeks! a bit OTT.0 -

Food banks, welfare support from your local council. There are always ways to eat.
The job centre will only stop your JSA if YOU have given them reason to do so. It's called taking responsibility for YOUR actions.
If YOU turn up late then only YOU are to blame.
If YOU fail to meet your job seekers agreement, YOU are to blame.
If YOU fail to turn up to an interview, YOU are to blame.0 -

I agree Ostrich.
Lith - My late grandfather was with the unit that liberated the Bergen Belsen Concentration Camp from the Nazis in 1945. The horrors of what he had to see and do in that hell-hole affected him for the rest of his life.
Grow up and stop comparing people just doing their jobs to try and help people find work with atrocities about which you know nothing.0 -

So if someone's bus or train is late they are to blame? Services out in the countryside tend to only run every two to three hours. As for catching a earlier bus, the person who is signing may already be using the first bus or train of the day. My nearest Job centre is 18 miles away and requires either three buses or two buses and a train.
As for food banks, your limited to three times a year and it is only three days supplies. Plus the cost of getting to the food bank in first place. Food Banks are rare in the countryside.
And for the record I'am in full employment,0
