Thanks for the support with the "piles" everyone. I think the main problem is I have so much going on I need a separate box or pile for each activity and I also keep sentimental stuff!!!
I hope your day improves. I still try to remember Valli's mantra of "Don't put it down, put it away". After a while of chanting it to yourself every time you put something "down", it does get easier. Good luck.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -

I'm in this week. So far I've dropped paperwork off to solar panel company and am in the process of the scariest task of setting up all my email settings and transferring old data onto my new computer.
So far my 'everyday' email is ok and working; just grappling with my 'business one'.
Then I'll tackle the lounge - it's not too bad but needs a bit of a tidy and hoover as i've got a student coming at 5pm.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
DW on, TD on, WM on. DD2 "picked up" her side of the bedroom at the weekend so the laundry bins are full again
I'm slowly working my way round the front room, it mostly needs dusting, bits and pieces put away and lots of dvds to find new homes for

Today's aim is to deal with everything you can see without opening drawers/cupboards, or looking behind sofas.
Imagine how you would like the room to be at the end of the week.
Rehome anything which does not belong in this room to its correct place (if it doesn't have a home then this is part of your problem, you need to find it one or question if you really need it - small children not included).
The first 30 minutes is usually the most successful so get off to a good start and then have a break or your ability to make decisions will decrease.
So if the floor now clear? If not carry on for as long as you can.
Have a quick hoover around the middle of the room (we'll move the furniture later in the week.

Getting there. Have sorted the leaning tower of paperwork that was the dining table. Just as well - found some client work I was about to chase in an unopened envelope. OOoops.
Can now see the floor almost so I will be getting the hoover out.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -

Need to:
Put iron n board away.
Fruit in bowl.
Clear kitchen sides
Wash up lunchbox bits.
Make lunchboxes.
Swish sink.
Hh bill paying.
Buy car tax.

I've done quite well
Pile which has been on the floor so long it had dead insects in it and loads of dust has been dealt with.
2 bags of stuff given to my sister to drop at charity shop (next to her work) and a jumper for her.
Pile of filing done
I have 4 piles left - one Governor stuff to deal with, one recipes to look at and fling or try, a little random pile (that will be the killer) and a pile of to do items on my desk.
Will do a quick HH now and meal plan as I need to pop to the shops as DS3 has 'cooking' tomorrow and I don't have all the stuff. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
LameWolf Evie is drop dead gorgeous - is she a guest or yours? What breed is she? Lovely lovely lovely little girl!
Just been into my RoD (DS's bedroom which DH has been using as his study and piles of carp everywhere) and found a load of papers to go into the recycling bin. Does he need fleabay receipts from 2007? I don't think so. Also circulars in envelopes that haven't even been opened? Or old magazines? I could go on but think you have the gist .....
Now going to pick up some more and maybe wipe the back of the toilets - what a glamorous life we all lead! First a cuppa as don't have to get the munchkins til 4.30 due to cheerleading and football club respectively.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0
