Any tips are more than welcome!
Weesmiler x
Hi and welcome! I have 2 part time jobs and 2 voluntary jobs, plus teenage boys and a lovely but domestically hopeless OH. The secret is to do a little every day, no matter how tired you are or how much you just want to sit down. Easier than it sounds sometimes but it really does work.
Identify places in your house that are hotspots (places where if things are dumped here other things will follow) and keep these clear. I have a set time once a day when I sweep these places for things that need rehoming. For me its also about little things like swishing and swiping the bathroom every morning after my shower, always dealing with laundry once its dry so I dont end up with an ironing pile and clearing the kitchen sink and draining board before I go to bed.
My house is not perfect by any means but I do manage to keep on top of things and this thread is a huge help (especially as everyone else in the family would happily live in a pigsty).
I have got a couple of paperwork frogs to banish today and need to get organised as I have got 3 busy days of paid stuff ahead.
Enjoy the meet at York - wish I was brave enough to join you!0 -

re your goal of University - do you need to take 5 A Levels? What do you want to study at Uni? It is possible (and quite possibly cheaper) to do an Access course over 1 year that many Universities will accept.:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -

I did the access course. The uni here doesn't accept A-levels over 3 years old and if you completed them over the age of 21 they demand you do the access course as well to prove you can complete full time (min. 16 hours a week) uni hours whereas Alevels are only 4 hours a week eachLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Morning all
Sleepover went well, kids now stuffed with pancakes, due to be collected in HH.
Sun is shining, how lucky, so DH is stripping our bed. I'm going to get an hour outside to top up the Vit D and fill the wheelie bin.
Mumto5 Happy Birthday, enjoy xThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Enjoy the meet today ladies... as Yorkshirelass says if I was a bit braver I would be coming too.
Basic flying still, I need to sort out uniforms and meal plan.
I am trying to be a bit healthier with what I eat and weigh my cereal/ meals in general, its crazy how much I have been overeating. Hopefully in this year if my weight can gradually decreases then my neuro-consultant will stop trying to push me in to getting a shunt. He just wants to shave my hair I am sure of it lol.
Mumto5 Happy birthday!0 -

Happy Birthday, Mumto5! We will raise a :coffee: to you at the meet. Did you ever take your DS3 and DD2 back to the Museum of London? - that was a fun day!
Welcome to newbies, congratulations to frog munchers.
The sun is shining here in York (for now at least). Having decluttered a large breakfast, tidied our things in the hotel room and packed, I am going shopping for an hour or so before making my way to the NRM.0 -
Good morning everyone
I've been lurking for a while but haven't had the guts to "speak up" but after reading this week's thread, felt moved to finally take the plunge. I don't think I've ever seen/heard such a lovely, caring, compassionate bunch of people in my life and have been moved to tears by the problems some of you are experiencing and the advice/support some of you have given. I've therefore decided I WILL fly with you and hopefully help someone along the way as I'm sure you will help me.
I have frequent visits from what I think you call BD (Black Dog? ...as with Churchill?) and social anxiety problems. I don't go out, answer the door, use the phone and hardly see anyone other than my son. I find it very hard to communicate, even writing, a lot of the time - this message has taken me about 2 hours upto now. That was the "dark" side of me/my life..... now the "light"!! When I'm "me" I love to have a laugh and joke, absolutely adore my garden birds and am very organised! Unfortunately, the organised bit doesn't stay for very long anymore hence the need for flying! Anyway, I think that's enough for now - for someone who cant communicate, think I've said an awful lot! Hope everyone meeting up in York has a lovely day also hugs, spoons and sticks to those that need them (hope I've got that right) x0 -
 Hi there DaftBat! Welcome aboard and all that kind of stuff. From lurking, you'll already be aware that there are a few people here who need a few sticks around for their black dogs to go and chase - you are not alone.
Enjoy yourselves York Meet FlyLadies. I will drink a toast of super-strong coffee to you all, later - when OH makes it.Better is good enough.0 -
