  • No words can express my thanks to all of you for sending me hugs/offering advice. I'm very overwhelmed and humbled by it all.

I do feel a bit better for 'talking' about it - my head isn't so cluttered.

I'd not thought about going to my GP to get referred for counselling but my worry there is that by the time I get an appointment (for the counselling) I will be moved or in the process of moving and I will have to cut the sessions short.

A special thanks to Ian for reaching out to me on what is a difficult day for you. I started flying after MSD passed but know of her legendary purple posts, kindness & compassion she showed. I will look into Cruse.

My biggest fear has been that someone would say I had no right to grieve as pre-illness I was planning on leaving him (and it stems in part from OH's family trying to cut me out of his life and that my feelings were meaningless, although they didn't know what my plans were or of his lies etc). I need to remember that I am entitled to grieve. I loved/love him and I'm slowly giving myself permission to grieve (I hope).

Thank you (these words don't cover the love and appreciation I feel towards you all for your support, hugs, advice & kind words).

Hugs dancemum and happy flyteenth birthday to Valli DD

I've set the DW on, S&S kitchen, bathed littlies in torchlight (bulb blew and its flush fitting so we used DS led strip light he has for under his bed lol), and put leftovers in fridge.

Have arranged play date for DD tomorrow and to meet another friend in a couple of weeks. She has just moved from "oop north" down to Kent back to her family. But is coming back here to sign some papers to do with her house. So we are going out for lunch while she's here. I did have other plans that day but they can wait - I most probably won't see her for 4-5 months.
I've also arranged with my dad, he's coming tomorrow. He was here in time last week to collect DS but DD was nattering about staying home, so he stayed with her while I did the school run. Maybe tomorrow we can all go.
Also arranged with my mum about her babysitting on Fri.
    Lots of "networking" tonight!

    Decluttering to continue tomorrow...

I think we cross-posted deco. Maybe you need to accept you have that right. Grieve for what could have been, for what you hoped for. One thing I've learnt is that grief is not just for the person, it's for the future that's no longer there. For yourself. For the relationship you wanted. Allow yourself to be angry with him, it's not disloyal. If he let you down, you have to feel it before it will pass. Otherwise it keep coming back to nibble your ankles :( X

Thank you - yes you've hit the nail on the head. I've never been angry at him for dying but I was angry about how he treated me, but that anger has dissipated. I need to learn not to dismiss my feelings of hurt/upset and face them head on (the scary bit).

Valli Happy birthday to DD, I'm sorry her dad is a pillock, mine does remember my birthday and I'm lucky I do get cards/presents on the day, he just lets me down when I let my guard down with him.

  • Been useless today.... did manage to wash and tumble dry the spare bed bedding and some other washing. Trying to get my application statement finished now... no flying tomorrow as I'm at work all day (10.30-11 again) but will try to do a bit before I go to work if I get time. If not, then friday is going to be a very busy day!

Over halfway through the week now :)

Happy birthday to Valli's DD. 18! Reminds me of taking my 22 year old DD to New York on her 18th. Time goes so fast!

My earlier purple post was a tribute to Diva. RIP

I must go to bed! Why do I always stay up late when DH is away???!!!
