Thanks KC

Thanks RT
Had a lovely weekend away, although we were at a conferency thing in a Youth Hostel and I only went outside for about 5 minutes the whole time  Came home exhausted and in need of another weekend, not a full week of work
Still, I only spent £6.50 all weekend on having a  with a new pal :j
Banks and budget checked :j (trying to get into the habit every day again). Fieldwork today so shouldn't be spending any of my own money - have now got a separate budget category for work expenses and I should be getting some paid back soon too :j
Rather excitingly, this is (fingers crossed!!) the LAST week of fieldwork in an entire YEAR of fieldwork :j :j I'll have to do some next year, but only little bits, not nearly as much as this, thank goodness!
Right, best get dressed I suppose...0 -
Just updated signature, and decided to have a rummage round the budget later to see if I can add another £100 to the long term savings this month - that'll make £2500 added this year
:j :j
Given that I'm trying to add double that next year (without any extra income  ) I think I should be able to find it!! :rotfl: :rotfl:
And now I really MUST get dressed...0 -
Hope you got dressed before you left the house, Cheery!
Low cost weekend and a new pal sounds greatas does a nice round savings figure :rotfl:
2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I know - I've annoyed myself with that 76p though, might have to just add £99.24 :rotfl: :rotfl:
you'll be pleased to know i did get dressed but had a right fiasco trying to get here! Waited 10 mins for bus (they're meant to be every 5) then got concerned about missing train so rang taxi.
While waiting for taxi SIX buses went past  25 mins after ringing up still no taxi and clearly missed train but figured i'd get next train if i hopped on a bus. Waited another 5 mins - no bus and now concerned about lack of taxi and potentially missing next train.
Rang taxi - they've been and gone, waiting on the wrong side of the church  Waited another 10 mins for bus and had to resign myself to missing second train when black cab appeared - flagged down, did mad dash through traffic and managed to get on train :j :j
i'll be !!!!in walking next time!!
Got to care home as planned at 10.30 and they were most vexed that I didn't apologise for not arriving at 9am - no idea why they thought I would as i have a printed copy of my email here which clearly says 'i will arrive at 10.30am' - i've even put it in bold and underlined it!
Feeling like i'd quite like to stop today and start again tomorrow!!
and i don't seem to be able to get rid of hese extra letters - stupid phone! igured i'0 -
Well!
Yesterday finished better than it startedwith me having a lovely relaxed evening and being fast asleep by 9.30pm :j :j Woke at 6 this morning nicely relaxed and have spent an hour pottering about and drinking tea, rather than what I usually do which is lie in bed being grumpy or looking at internet for about 45 mins, then have a mad 20 minute dash round the house and end up late
Off to walk down to the station in a relaxed fashion now - no buses for me today!! (not on this bit of the trip anyway - if I walked ALL four bus trips today it's about 12 miles!)
Walking this one will save me £1.70 too :money:
At some point I'll fix my foldy bike... but I don't particularly like the dark ride through the commuter traffic so that might well be next year...
Have a good one all!0 -
Glad yesterday finished better than it started.
Did you show the email to the care home to show them you weren't due til 10.30?Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Cheery! What a horrible morning you had yesterday! As starnac says, I hope you referred to your email about your arrival time - though, after a journey like that, I wouldn't be surprised if that took you by surprise
I hope they still fed you lots of cups of tea.
Today sounds much better2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I did consider waving my email about... but on the whole decided that this was my last visit there, and proving people wrong in that way probably wasn't going to leave a lasting good impression, so I apologised, said I'd always intended to arrive at 10.30 and apologised profusely if there had been a mix up, and hoped it hadn't inconvenienced them too much.
The person at the care home wasn't the same person I'd emailed, and it doesn't do to bad mouth someone's boss really, not when they're new! Just a bit of wires crossing, and on this occasion I just had to accept that individual might think badly of me, but I won't have to see them again. Will ring main boss today and explain, and apologise for the mix up
(Seem to spend a lot of time apologising for things that aren't my fault to smooth things over!)
Today is better - although I'm busy trying to get OUT of a free lunch in 20 minutesNot very :money: but good for my sanity I think!
Have drunk an Ainsley Harriot brocolli and stilton cupasoup I found in a drawer - only been out of date for 8 months so should be fine :rotfl:
