Um, MISSUS I think PLANNED spends are OK as proper NSD's if you don't spend anything else extra.......
Just saying.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

well that's good
actually found the real NSD challenge thread this morning and had a read through - going to join in that and do it properly next time, planning and putting stuff in envelopes
currently in a care home bedroom over lunch and trying desperately not to (a) have a nap on the bed and (b) eat the entire plate of biscuits they brought usnot sure which is most difficult!!

Aw Cheery it is good they are looking after you there - didn't you say the other day you were out somewhere and got no tea
After several years we have decided to use the huge half barrel planter we have - it easily swallowed 2 big bags of compost - at least 4 more needed i think  Not sure what to plant in it though  I'd like some year round colour, and not too much spreadage as i'd like pretty low maintenanceAny suggestions Cheery or anyone?

thanks dedicated, we are indeed being looked after today! :j :j Avoided biscuits so far
no idea about plants, pippi's your womani plant vegetables and then mostly fail to keep them alive
although a cheery lavender might be nice; i've not killed one of them yet!!
i've been VERY grateful for my home made compost recently :j wouldn't have managed without it! with a big planter i tend to fill a fair bit with rocks/large sticks/offcuts of wood/ broken plastic plant pots , anything really that takes up space
then fill some more with old comppst from used plant pots etc, and then dollop a giant load of home made compost on top of that, even if it's not entirely rotten properly and still has egg shells etc in it
only THEN do i plonk bought in conpost - costs an absolute fortune otherwise!
(of course that only works if you have as much rubbish lying round your garden as iclearly do...:rotfl: ) and i've now used up most of my home made conpost so not sure what'll happen with the next couple!
ooh, do your council make compost? we can go and shovel our own - too bulky for seeds but good for filling the bottoms of tubs etc with layer of ordinary shop compost over it, and a lot cheaper! (although does require a fair bit of shovelling...)
sorry, not sure that was any use!!0 -
Thanks Cheery
i have lavender in a different planter so thinking something different here - though clearly i'm not sure what :rotfl: I wanted to use some of the garden soil to bulk out the compost but as i've had a lot of annoying grasses growing lately i've decided against it - they make the soil really hard to dig into.
No our council doesn't do compost - i will get a few more cheap bags i think as i am not spending too much else on plants this year - as i am hoping some kindly soul will offer me cuttingsfor any of the bits i need - other than this huge planter - maybe come coloured heather will look nice?..

LSD may be the way to do it. I personally don't think your meeting donations should count, or teas bought that can be out on expenses.
A tea and cake budget may be an idea too as you do like visiting caf!s and it's not really about denying yourself that. Maybe set yourself a budget just for tea and cake and put it in a separate envelope/pot so that won't eat into your NSD's either.
Just a thought xGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
thank you both
Once we get to May i will definitely be having a separate pot for meeting donations :j Don't usually claim tea (although there's plenty i do claim :rotfl: )
Going to have a good read of thr NSD thread for ideas
will have a think about plants etc0 -
I think LSD's could be the way to go.
Today I had to spend 20p on 2 onions I desperately needed ....and my NSD is out the window, just for the sake of 20p!Early retired - 18th December 2014
If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough0 -
well that is very vexing indeed goldie girl!!
i'm declaring today a NSD :j :j :j
there was a taxi and a bus i can claim on expenses, and i did go to another meeting (not my regular one) so i did give a donation but there were loads pf people there so i just threw in the change out of my pocket that wouldn have gone in the change jar, so i'm breaking the rules and not counting it
(can't do that at my own meeting, the rent for the room is a fiver a week abd there's usually only 2 or 3 of us there ...)
so that's NSD 4 i think :j :j :j
might be ok for another one tomorrow too! :j
(oh, just remembered i picked up milk, yogurt and bananaanas on the way home - must recoup 6 quid from food budget!)
yes, tomorrow... work travel which doesn't count, but i have lunch and snacks already packed, i'm going to my own office so there's a ready supply of FREE tea and i can have as much as i like :j :j rotfl: then i'm at home in the evening :j
need to cross a few things off the to do list tomorrow night...0 -
ooh, and i found a cheque yesterday :j :j refund of tax from the old car - just £36.66 but it all counts! :j :j must stick that in the bank on friday then add it to the long term savings once it's cashed :j :j
Funny how i'm really looking forward to pay day next week - mainly so i can sort out my envelopes, do a load of shuffling and start a new NSD target:rotfl: :rotfl:
