:rotfl: you lot
Anyway we are suffering much disappointment this evening as we just found out we didn't get our cheery falling down house. Someone else came along with more money, who hadn't stupidly sold their own house to someone who wasn"t procedable yet, and just like that... we don't have it
Knew this might happen of course but it's a bit of a blow0 -
Oh Cheery I am sorry to hear that. Is there a possibility you can up your offer?Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000

We could only up by 5k, and as our buyer hasn't actually sold hers yet we're still not procedable anyway
We've given her til next friday, and we're going away for a couple of days tomorrow, so first thing on Monday i'll be calling the estate agents to check how she's getting on, and the minute she's sold I'll be back on the phone...
Probanly won't do any good at that point but she might have had the survey by then and decided she doesn't want it anyway :rotfl:

Ergh! How awful. Must admit I don't have much experience in the whole house selling thing so can't really offer advice. SorryGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000

Oh what a shame, Cheery! You and Mr Cheery are such characters, a house like that would become wonderful .... anyway, I hope you can put it by you to enjoy your days away.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Thank you all :kisses3:
We did enjoy our time away :j and while we were away had a call to say our buyer has sold her house, so we now ARE proceedable :j :j I did ring the estate agents of the falling down house to inform them just in case something falls through.... Not holding my breath though
Driven past a couple of other houses this morning and ruled both out as both too near major roads and there was so much noise. One was in what promised to be a lovely setting, and the house itself is pretty jolly (although not quite as *palatial* as we were looking for....). It looked to be nicely rural and isolated too :j
BUT (and it's a big but) the setting just creeped me outYes it was isolated (although with a motorway about 30 seconds walk away), but the nearest inhabited place was quite rough, there was a big sign warning against motorbikes in the next door field, some local coppers were having their lunch down there, and the whole place just felt like somewhere that baddies take people in films when they want to murder them
No wonder it's been on the market for several years...
Had a chat with our estate agent, who has reassured me we won't lose our buyer if we don't find a house to buy this weekend... :rotfl: :rotfl:
Anyway, I have the next 8 or 9 hours to myself, so I'm about to make a giant colourful list:j :j

So, I've already given the house a bit of a tidy and put the shopping away :j Mr Cheery is away til about 9 or 10 tonight and I would like to occupy myself in a cheerful and productive way
