Your list is almost as big as Pippi's! Phew!
Have you seen any other houses you like? It's always worth the phone call to the other EA letting them know you are ready to go in case anything changes. Fingers crossed for you.
Yay to your buyer selling their house! Hope all goes smoothlyGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
:rotfl: starnac - I ended up ignoring my entire list apart from the final item
:rotfl:
Yep, I spent the entire afternoon working on my diploma :j It was greatand I've done the same for a couple of hours this afternoon. Forgotten how much I love thinking about that stuff.
So, er, nothing else on the list has been done at allOops
I've already rung the estate agent for the falling down house starnac - sadly it's now marked as sold on RightMoveBut then it had a sold sign up when we viewed it as it had all fallen apart at the survey so we're keeping our fingers crossed :rotfl:
Nothing else really in the running at the minute, although we've got our eye on a couple that we'll try to view this week. Officially withdrawn from the first one now - feel relieved but also a bit sad
Finally totted up what we've spent to sort this house out - just under £6000. That's everything in the 'home maintenance' category since January 2015, so it also includes appliances (eg new second hand cooker, new printer) and 'normal' repairs (eg a bit of minor roof repairing). Main bulk was £3700 on 'getting someone in' - including plastering inaccessible ceilings, carpet + fitting in bedroom and two sets of stairs, replacing three big downstairs windows etc
The other £2000 was us spending on tools, materials, plastering course, paint etc - oh, and about £250 worth of plastic tubs and boxes :eek: :rotfl:
Not too bad considering we were originally told to market it at £170k and have just sold it for £215k... :eek:
Of course, it might have sold for more anyway, prices could have wildly increased in the last two years or whatever... (and I suppose our buyer might try to knock £40k off at the survey! :eek: ) :rotfl: But still, not bad at all
End of the month tomorrow, must do YNAB later - and book flights to see friend in Germany later in the summer :j :j
Just making gooseberry jam :j :j0 -
Evening moneysaving chums :hello: and what a beautiful evening it is here in Cheery Town! :j :j So beautiful in fact that I'm considering leaving the washing up and the giant list I'm about to write, and heading out for a wander for an hour with my camera instead :j
Just while I finish this cuppa though... time for a massive list :j Hopefully I'll get more done than I did last time I wrote a list:rotfl: So, in no particular order...
HOUSE
* washing up
* change duvet cover
* quick tidy upstairs (clothes out of bathroom etc)
COMPUTER THINGS
* YNAB
* book flights :eek:
* blog post about gooseberry jam
* figure out directions and potential lunch spot for house viewing extravaganza tomorrow (got three lined up before lunch!)
* email car insurer to check whether I need to draw diagram of something I'm not even claiming for
* make list of estate agents to ring tomorrow to book viewings for Monday
* book holidays and set out of office then shut down work computer for a week
OTHER THINGS
* write letter to a friend
* kettlebells video
Mr Cheery have made the remarkable discovery this week that in almost 12 years of our relationship we have never left the country together :rotfl: In fact he has not left the country at all! And I've only left it for a couple of 24 hour trips to Brussels to see a friend :rotfl: We are not exactly globe-trotting jet-setters :rotfl:
However, we have been invited to spend a few days in Berlin with a school friend of Mr Cheery's, and so we are going to put on our brave pants and figure out how to book flights - something I'm ashamed to admit that I have NEVER done, as on the two occasions I've flown before, someone else booked my tickets :rotfl: :rotfl:
Anyway, rather excited about our house viewing epic trip tomorrowThree places, all beautiful (and expensive :eek: ) in their own ways :j Hoping one of them turns out to be the one
I've already got a favourite
and sadly it's probably the one we're least likely to get :rotfl:
Right, if I'm going for an evening perambulation I'd best get on with it else the sun will have set before I get out the door! :eek:
If someone could do the washing up before I get back, I'd be most grateful0 -
*dons washing up gloves*
Have a good amble.
Fingers crossed on the viewings and flights are probably easier than online food shopping. Goodluck
xx
I'll do that bedroom duvet before you're back too.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there. :beer:
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

Pips & GP, you are both most generous with your offers to clean-up!

Aw you lovely, lovely lot

:rotfl:
Well, my cheery amble proved very fruitful - literally, when I spotted BLACKBERRIES! :j :j :j I miss them every single year, as in my head they're not ready til September, and by the time I go looking of course they've already goneBut not today! And fortunately I was still carrying around, er, some small plastic bags from having had the neighbour's cheery dog yesterday
Happily filled my little bags with blackberries then wandered through the other park - it's on the edge of a hill looking out towards the national park and faces the sunset, and it was indeed quite a beautiful sunset, and there were lots of people in the park just sat on benches and rocks watching itSo I did the same thing, found a little bench and just sat there watching til the sun went down :j
And then, round the corner... came cheery little dog friend and our neighbours :j So they ended up giving me a lift home (would have been MUCH quicker to walk as they wanted to go via the chippy), and then neighbour's husband came round wanting me to help him with sending an email... and he's only just gone.
So, er, the ONLY thing I've done off my list is the washing up:rotfl: But I do have two big bowls of lovely blackberries just having a big of a soak to get the bits out :j
Best add 'make jam' back to the list again :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Made jam
And in the last 4 days we have viewed eight different houses :eek: Head nearly exploding with it all :eek:
But.... we have had an offer accepted :j :j Eeeeek! Needless to say it is the most ludicrous house we've seen (well, the house itself is quite modest and reasonable, but there are, er, several outbuildings and rather a lot of land too...) :eek: :eek: :eek:
Land seems to be populated by sheep, despite estate agent insisting there is no agreement with neighbouring farmers, and previous owner is dead. Hope we don't end up accidentally buying a flock of sheep too :eek: Mind you I suppose they'd come in handy to keep the grass down... :eek: :eek: :eek:
Can't decide whether I'm excited or plain terrified
Just bought a copy of Country Smallholder :rotfl: :rotfl: Think I may be needing a subscription :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
