I don't like a fight RT
and I'm a cheery soul at heart. Mr cheery is rather less cheery when woken up which is why they always get to deal with me
They're nice lads and I always think if you're going to start a fight the worst people to start it with are the people who live next door! :rotfl:
Anyway loads of painting done today :j and we've just been for a mini walk in the sunshine :j SO tempted by a takeaway :rotfl: but instead I've made swert potato chips and Mr Cheery is doing something with some quorn pieces - £1.75 but far cheaper than the takeaway :rotfl:
I'm going to hop out to potter in the garden for 20 mins using KC's little and often method (although in my case not very often... :rotfl: )0 -
Not very often for me either, Cheery
the brambles at the back are terrible, and the buddleia near the house is now so big its shading the kitchen
:o:o Between the exhaustion, the wedding, the retirement and a couple of family crises, I haven't done nearly as "often" as I needed to, though I will soon

This is the provlem with gardens KC, they just never stop growing! :rotfl: :rotfl: bit like housework really
I always liked what the nice lady says on the Down To Earth blog - you're never going to get to the *end* of the housework so it doesn't really matter if this or that gets put off til tomorrowsame with gardening I suppose
I got out for about half an hour in the end, it was lovely :j cleared some of the ground cover under kitchen window - it's out of hand and full of weeds and looks really scruffy. I'm going to put a load of woodchip down once it's properly clear, should only take another half an hour tomorrow :j
For once I put the weeds straight into a bag and then tipped into the compost - it was lovely not having to sweep them off the path too, and the satisfaction of filling the bag every five mins or so (it was smaller than a carrier bag :rotfl: ) was a great motivator :
a good day, despite the rather abrupt start  :j0 -
Another abrupt start today, but of my own making. Why didn't I put the bins out last night when I thought about it?? No reason except idleness - which meant I was then catapulted rudely out of bed (where I had been happily reading for an hour or two) on hearing the bin lorry. Most vexing.
Oh well. Painting beckons, and perhaps more gardening if it stops raining.
Shower and breakfast and ynab first though0 -
DH ended up chasing the bin lorry down the street last week (pulling a full wheelie bin with him) as they had already passed our end when he remembered it was bin day :rotfl: :rotfl:
Sounds like you are really steaming along with the decorating. Well done for avoiding takeaways too. That's always hard when you are tired and don't feel like cooking.
I'm going to use your method of "little and often" today to get some of the house tidied up. I don't think I could manage it all in one go :eek:Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
:rotfl: at your OH chasing the bin lorry starnac :rotfl: I haven't had to do that for a while, although I have had to put it out in my nightie before :rotfl: I always thought that was one of the signs of being a Proper Grown Up - remembering the bin day and putting the bins out the night before :rotfl: I feel all pleased with myself when I manage it (although without the people over the road I'd never remember which week it was as we alternate recycling and landfill (or rather incinerator, in our case)) :rotfl:
Not got much decorating time today - off to meet some friends for a celebratory tea in York tonight, and going a bit early to do some birthday shopping for Mr CheeryPopping into slimming world before that, so only got another hour or so  Painting the landing cream today - gosh it looks SO much better than white! :rotfl: To me, white paint so often looks like undercoat (or at least it does when I've painted it over plaster that I've plastered)
:rotfl:

Sympathising on the bins :rotfl: we alternate too, and I can never remember which week it is. Sometimes I'm the first one to put mine out, of the houses in my sightline, but I hate putting it out in the dark, so I sometimes need to walk the route the lorry takes and see what bin other people further away are putting out.
Definitely a grown up thing to do, to remember and then do it :rotfl:
Celebratory tea sounds lovely - York always makes me think of Betty'shave a great time.

...Definitely a grown up thing to do, to remember and then do it :rotfl:
You mean there is an area of life where I'm all growed up?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
TBH - our bins are always out- across the farm yard by the storage barn...
...the nice bin men just come and empty whatever bin is on their rota for the week...
(they are however incapable of putting said bin back where they found it & we often have to go to the other end of the farmyard and fetch ours back!)4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! This was green (rubbish) bin day and normally he would have left it as we never fill it in a fortnight (fortnightly collections of general waste here, recycling weekly). We normally put it out once a month as it's usually over half full-3/4's by then but we had missed the monthly one so it was actually full. He was afraid of leaving it another fortnight, hence the running! :rotfl:
I find cream looks softer than white and a bit less....I don't know....stark maybe??

RT, I think that sounds like cheating :P
:rotfl: :rotfl: But still, yes, it makes you a proper grown up
:hello: evening :hello:
Had a lovely evening in York :j and a nice day out today too with another pal. So much for my week of decorating! :rotfl: Did get the cream coloured coat onto the rest of the landing when I got back this afternoon though :j :j
Just been sorting out receipts after doing a bit of birthday shopping for Mr Cheery the other day   SO many receipts  Aarrgghh!
Still, all sorted now :j Presents are still in a bag and not wrapped or put away (and I only actually have Christmas wrapping paper :rotfl: ) but I've got a day or two left so it's ok
Off to doze in front of the olympics now :j :j0
