Cheery's buttling diary: tea in one hand, plant pot in the other, running shoes on

Definitely the right call to return the gift - no sense in keeping something you'll never use, and never using it will simply increase the guilt you feel around it anyway! Also sounds like Boss knew full well that it might not be right for you as well (or possibly was told as much by others?), on the basis that the gift receipt was left with it!
Brilliant idea just ambling around during festivities getting stuff tidied - far nicer than that awful feeling of looking at all the detritus after everyone's left! :T
Glad the seaside was lovely - made me think "I want to go to the seaside!" too, then I remembered that we almost certainly will do when we're down in Devon at New Year - so all good!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I confess I used to hate it when people tidied up around me at parties
although that was mostly confined to people I lived with - largely because it made me feel guilty that I wasn't doing the same
:rotfl: :rotfl:
Nobody seemed uncomfortable though and in fact barely even noticed :rotfl: We don't have many flat surfaces so I think they were grateful for somewhere to put their plates down! :rotfl:
Blog post doneLove the seaside :j :j :j :j :j
Suppose I'd best get dressed...:rotfl: This is presumably why flylady says 'get dressed as soon as you get up!' but I had to leap out of bed to look for someone's phone and didn't want to delay that to get dressed - and here I am still in my nightie at nearly lunchtime, having done nowt but stare at the computer!
:rotfl: :rotfl:

It's a holiday, Cheery, you can do that! You sound like you've had a lovely few days, thats wonderful2023: the year I get to buy a car0
-
That's what I told myself KC
Holidays indeed :j :j
Gosh I'm tiredNot even done that much today!
:rotfl: Internet pottering this morning, oh, and a spin class where I cycled the equivalent of 10 miles in 45 mins - I forgot about that  :rotfl: More pottering, picked up a parcel (not for me sadly, nor Mr Cheery's Christmas present which I HOPE arrives tomorrow! ) Made stuff for slimming world, circled many things in the Radio Times
then stuffed face with goodies at slimming world taster
Home now, and I was just about to do 15 mins tidying in the bedroom (honestly!!) when the phone rang - my friend from Belgium who is currently holed up in her teeny tiny cottage in the Yorkshire Dales for Christmas and was ringing from the landline :j Don't get to actually *speak* to her very often so this was a nice treat :j
However we talked for 45 mins and now I'm completely worn out so I think bedroom will have to wait til tomorrow - sorry flylady!:rotfl: Will do the washing up though

I'd rather tidy the room I was going to sleep in than do the washing up
though I *have* recently been converted to the virtues of a clean kitchen surface when I come down in the morning
Always good to chatter with friends - hope today goes as well2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Thanks KC
Our bedroom is a funny one - because we sleep on a mezzanine thing, once you get up there you can't see any of the mess belowIt's actually been kept in reasonable working order for a while now -our joint clothes collection just does NOT fit in the wardrobe though so it's kind of inevitable that there will be a pile somewhere, and there's some decorating stuff in there too that I moved out of the bathroom - not ideal but we're quite higgledy piggledy for a while! My little 5 min bursts in there are mostly putting clothes away, a never-ending task... :rotfl:
Seem to have whittled the morning away trying to sort out YNAB after our little jaunt - I was a few quid out in cash, but assume that got spent in a cafe somewhere so I'm not going to worry about it
Not really left myself enough time to go swimming now, darn it!
Ah well, it's a nice day, so a nice leisurely amble into town is just the thingNothing left to buy so just a cafe :j :j

YOU ARE BUYING A CAFE????? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Seaside looked lovely. I do agree with flylady about getting dressed. I had to run downstairs to answer the door to the postman early this morning and still haven't got dressed  all I seem to have done is 15minutes in dining room and set my table for Christmas dinner  it's almost afternoon!!

You daft lot
Much as I love the idea of running a cheery cafe I think the day to day reality would do me in - and it'd be a bit difficult to fit in around my new full time job too
Instead I just went and ate in someone else's cafe - much better:rotfl:
Nice afternoon with friend, got Mr Cheery another present (and myself a teeny present too, oops:rotfl: )
Got home and Mr Cheery's present has arrived in the post :j :j LOVE it - hope he does too!
And my P45 is here too :j :j0 -
Right, YNAB all done and caught up with, and I now officially NO discretionary categories to steal from this month
:rotfl: There's money sat there, but it's all specifically allocated to things like house insurance, direct debits, RAC cover etc :rotfl:
I've raided the holidays, Christmas, birthdays and all other similar non-essential categories this month, plus the house maintenance one (which gets raided every monthalthough some does actually get spent on the house! :rotfl: )
Much harder to steal from insurance etc categories - which is, of course, the main benefit of YNAB :rotfl:
Not planning on spending anything tomorrow or Friday at least! :rotfl: Last wages from old job due in tomorrow! :eek:0
