Civilisation returns :j well done!
We can't be the only country in the world where part of the advice on moving house is to pack the kettle and the makings for tea and take it with you in a cardboard box, so its the first thing you yourself take into the housecan we?
Thanks for the linkie! I bet thats similar to the way people use lavender flowers, a little percentage gives you what you need. Thanks2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Well done on getting you refreshment centre set up - DEFINITELY the first priority!! :j :j :j
Rethinking life today... a bit coherently...Feeling rather mired in rules and deadlines and tedious work-related panic. Reckon I'd rather enjoy a life of making jam and pottering to the library and feeding my chickens without work getting in the way
I've often pondered this and had people tell me i'd miss the intellectual stimulation but i'm coming to the conclusion that they're wrong:rotfl: I know lots of people who've given up a career or bureaucratic organisational life and not a single one of them has regretted it...
Best find a cheaper house to buy than that giant mansion we went to see last week then... :rotfl:0 -
I happen to agree
you have an intellect, but its not dependent on having a job - you'll use your intellect as much/as little as you want to, wherever you put yourself - think of your posts on Conscious Living, they're lovely, but certainly not job-dependent :j
Two bed house with large garden (for chickens and fruit bushes) might be the priority :j2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Thanks KC, that's a lovely way to put it, it's not dependent on a job :kisses3:
Lots of chatting and hatching of plots going on round here at the minute, going to have a good chat to Mr Cheery later too. hmm0 -
Right, banking done :j Lots of thing from over the weekend have cleared  Goodness me. I know it was mostly house/garden stuff, and skewed by a GIANT 100m roll of weed suppressant for the community allotment that ultimately I won't be paying for, but even so
Need a small rest from spending money now... :rotfl:
Went out with a couple of friends last night - first time in ages I've just sat in a pub and had a chat :j Spent a grand total of £2.40 :rotfl: :rotfl:
Working at home today so no train station temptationsOld flute teacher is popping round at some point with tickets for her show she's singing in so that'll be nice (but obviously I'll have to pay for them). Need to ring roofer/plasterer (same bloke) that someone gave me a number for too.
But priority is work! No conclusion to yesterday's chat (had to break off so I could go to the pub... :rotfl: ) so in the meantime there's plenty to be getting on with!
Bought some daffs at the weekend and they're perking up nicely in a glass jar on my newly painted kitchen windowsill :j :j Lovely lovely lovelyI do love a bunch of daffs
Have a cheery one all0 -

Happier today :j :j nice cup of tea sat on the garden wall with old flute teacher in the sunshine, and another friend is going to pop in later on too :j
Leftover curry for lunch (although sadly no bread left and I forgot to put more on) but  we've run out of teabags!! Must send Mr Cheery out :j0 -
Sounds like you've had a lovely day, Cheery
and a lovely yesterday evening too
2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Turning into quite a cheery day! :j :j
Other friends popped round with their young daughter and we had hot cross buns
And I've just had an email confirming my first ever new project that's got MY name on it (and ONLY my name) :j :j Very exciting£10k upfront (obviously I don't get most of that :rotfl: ) and a cheery little project to boot :j Means me working Fridays from April to September  but I don't care because it's exciting and it's ALL MINE :j
(I'm sure I'll come to regret it when it gets all unwieldy and out of hand but for now I'm excited!)
minor celebration tonight I think0 -
Ooh! The loveliness extends into the future! Many congratulations, thats a big boost! I remember you were starting to work Fridays, but having your own name, and only your name, on the project, is a great step to have2023: the year I get to buy a car0
