Brilliant list, Cheery! Congratulations on the extra work going ahead, thats a very nice little addition to the pot. And a cooker too - well, all of it really :)

I can confirm painting a windowsill is money related - you're maintaining the fabric of your home, see :D

Disguising the previous lack of maintenance, more like :o :rotfl: Whole thing has a giant crack in it but I'm not going to replace so I can at least varnish over the water stains to make it look less bad! :o :rotfl:

Just run a bath - normally baths are evening activities in this house :D But I had to patch a hole in the wall before I could put the tiles on the shower yesterday so no showering yet but I'm all grubby and horrid and can't do anything without a wash, even dirty stuff :rotfl:

    Today's plan:

    - bath
    - tiles on shower
    - ring bloke to take cooker away
    - plaster bathroom wall
    - try to fix hoover
    - garden tidying
    - tip (again)
    - buy another hoover (probably :o :rotfl: )
    - possibly another bath :rotfl:

Well would you believe I actually got quite a bit of that list done?! :j :j

    - [STRIKE]bath[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]tiles on shower[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]ring bloke to take cooker away[/STRIKE] (well, I left a message - will ring again tomorrow)
    - [STRIKE]plaster bathroom wall[/STRIKE] (some of it anyway! :j )
    - [STRIKE]try to fix hoover[/STRIKE] Actually DID fix hoover! :j
    - garden tidying - no
    - tip (again) - no
    - buy another hoover (probably ) - no need :D
    - possibly another bath - er, no :rotfl:

Been at the community allotment this morning :) Love those folks :) Although we're at the VERY tedious stage of sorting insurance/constitution/bank accounts etc which I'm hoping will be over VERY soon because it's really rather dull :o :rotfl:

Got very excited at the prospect of a working grill - remembered it meant CHEESE ON TOAST! :j :j :rotfl: Love cheese on toast and not been able to have it for months :rotfl: Just scoffing the last bit (for now...) :rotfl:

So for the rest of today...

    - grout tiles
    -clean up

Working for the next few days so won't be much DIY going on, and I cannot keep the bathroom in its current state all week  Was going to spend the afternoon in the garden but it's raining so not really appealing... More appealing is more cheese on toast and a film :o :rotfl:

Know what you mean about the grill .... I've just discovered that my cute little UFO, a.k.a. my halogen oven, can act as a grill, as well as a dehydrator :)

Enjoy the cheese on toast, and the film :)

Fat chance of watching a film :rotfl:

We decided to take the old cooker to the tip ourselves rather than chasing someone else to come and get it - car was already empty from tip trip on Friday. So we lugged that, yet more stuff from the workshop, and the rest of the branches fro the garden all to the tip :j :j :j

Long way to go but we're getting there :j

Acquired a lamp at the tip... so took that round to a friend's house, who just happens to be the friend whose garden I'm growing stuff in :D So I checked on my garlic (growing nicely! :j ) and dug over another bed and found some rogue potatoes and some cabbage leaves - so that's tea sorted :rotfl:

Still not started grouting or tidying up mind :rotfl:

You are really getting on with all the DIY jobs. Nothing like the thought of moving to get all those little jobs done ;)

By the time you've finished you won't want to move :rotfl:

Yay to new project and extra money in the kitty. Go you :j

    Hey Cheery,

lovely to catch up with all your 'doings' and my goodness there have been many

You're doing so well with all the house stuff and it certainly is money related, as KC says.

I had to whizz out to get a quote for something engineeringy at work today and conveniently, the place was only half a mile from my home so I cheekily popped in to pick up all the bags of stuff for charitizing and recycling and dropped them off at RSCPA shop and textile banks on the way back to the office !

Very relieved you are now able to have cheese on toast again, I'd definitely struggle without that in my life !
    xx

    :hello: Morning chums :)

Good use of work time there Lula! :D :j :j

There are indeed many 'doings' around here at the minute. The place will be unrecognisable by the time we finish  I can't help a little feeling that we're stripping all our personality out of the place and in some ways that will make it a lot easier to move.

There's even talk of shocking things like net curtains and removing the built in workbench from the 'spare bedroom'

Kind of hoping our ideal house doesn't appear just yet as there's no way we're ready for it :rotfl:

Working at home today, and a friend is coming round for tea :j So just one tiny little job - stripping the old sealant from round the bath. The short edge is already done as it's under the new tiling.

Not going to plan to put new sealant on today too, because that needs the bath to be full and I'm saving that for tomorrow night - have a nice long soak and then whizz the sealant round while the water's still in :j

What's with this gloomy weather? All I want to do is stay in and eat large amounts of chocolate (and toast)

Need to have serious words with myself about Slimming World. Left in October after many months sitting pretty much dead on 10 stone and not moving. In the 3 months up to Christmas I put on another stone

rejoined a few weeks ago and paid for 12 weeks up front, taking me to late April. Lost 4.5lbs in the first week, and then up and down and as it currently stands I've only actually lost 4lbs in total :o :rotfl:

Either I need to leave and accept I'm going to just eat until I am actually spherical, or I need to accept that I do rather prefer to be slightly slimmer than I am now, and that means not stuffing in cakes at every opportunity!

    Yawn.

    Oooh bath sealant

yes, that's something I need to do at mine ... many thanks for the nudge :D

Now, about this weight thing ... as you know, I feel your pain on this matter :o:rotfl:

I found the one thing which has really helped me is drastically reducing the sugar in my diet. Literally cutting out all cake, sweets, chocolate, biscuits etc. except for maybe one 'treat' day per week.

Once you've overcome the sugar addiction, it is a lot easier to become more discerning about what else you eat and you'll probably find that you no longer crave it.

I did my drastic reduction in January and I now find that I rarely want chocolate or sweets and if I do over-indulge in sugar I find I struggle to sleep at night which soon reminds me !

Try it and see what happens :)

Cheery. I'm stuck at 10 stone too. I've always wanted to be "under 10stone" even if that means 9st 13lbs :rotfl: I can diet all the way down to 10st1 but cannot get any lower. I think I need to accept that this is me too! *sigh*
