On phone, will find you some decent property !!!!!! soon I promise!!
Trying not to look too far outside price range as it's too tempting!!
:rotfl:
Mr Cheery prefers to talk about financial things during daylight hours (I quite understand
) so we've put Saturday aside to talk about mortgages and timescales and scary things like that (I'm in York all daylight hours tomorrow - got a very important meeting with a funder - we've only 15 minutes to win him over so I mustn't just talk about houses!!) :rotfl: :rotfl:

Ok, best I can do on phone...
I've been lusting after this house for years as I drive back into the city, and it came up for sale last year... at £650k  I see they've reduced it a bit now - maybe if nobody buys it i might be able to afford it when i'm about, er, 135 years old :rotfl: :rotfl:

Look at that view though!! And still walkable to the train station! (well, a fair old walk, but definitely cycleable!) Sigh... :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Hello, just popping in to catch up. I have changed my name and starting a whole new journey. So great to catch up on here too. I am looking forward to your next year0

That's listed on my CV under hobbies and interests :rotfl::rotfl:
So exciting now. It all feels so real! Good luck for saturday for your chat and also for your meeting with your funder.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Thanks Starnac, and hello clutterbee :hello: nice to see you

Nowt to report, trying to focus on work and not think about houses

Oops, I shouldn't pester you then ... but I love those sorts of houses, so I had a proper look at that one. You could knock them down a bit further because there's only one toilet :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I did very briefly last night accidentally search for detached houses in our acceptable area with no upper price range  Good grief. Who on earth are the people who live in those places?! I was almost sick with the thought of all that opulence and ridiculousness
Will link later if I can find them again

(KC, I think you replied on your own thread to what I was waffling on about here)
:rotfl:
Busy day at work today (on a Friday!!) but just cycled up the hill from the station and enjoying a brief moment of tranquility before Mr Cheery and his friend get back. Friend is apparently staying over so I feel mildly compelled to hoover the floor in the attic and check there is appropriate bedding - but I suppose if Mr Cheery didn't feel compelled and I didn't know friend was staying til about half an hour ago, then I really shouldn't worry too much
Might have a cuppa instead
Mr Cheery bringing pizza (probably Sainsbury's 2-for£3
)
Not sure what will happen to our house talk if friend is going to still be here tomorrow... We'll see...
Anyway - one of the things on Martin's list that I haven't done is check my credit rating. Shouldn't be a problem - I've only ever had one credit card which I got rid of about 8 years ago but worth a check I suppose... Off to find the instructions while the kettle boils...0 -
Right. Signed up for Experian free trial (and made note to cancel again!)
Apparently my credit score is 999 out of 999
:rotfl: I alwasy was a swot :rotfl:
4 positive factors
- average age of my credit accounts is 55 months
- total non-mortgage credit is £0.00
- using 4 non-mortgage credit accounts
- not made any credit applications in the last 6 months
I take it 'credit accounts' are just normal bank accounts/savings accounts?? (actually, I found out where it told me - 3 bank accounts and the water bill
)
Interestingly, I'm financially linked to Mr Cheery (we have a joint account) and he's had one credit check in the last 6 months - an insurance company in December. Wonder why they did that? We took out house insurance in December, but paid upfront so really they had no business doing a credit check!
Off to do the other places, and then I'll have to get Mr Cheery to check his too.
Fascinating stuff, I've never done this before! :$ :rotfl:0 -
Ok, CheckMyFile report now (checks Callcredit and Equifax)
Score here is 773, 3 out of 5 stars - could do better :rotfl:
Based on my public credit reports from all 3, score is 869
Anyway, from what I gather, score is irrelevant as everyone checks for different things. But I only have positive things on there, no negative, so I'm not going to worry.
Will get Mr Cheery to check tomorrow - shouldn't be a problem. He changed his name, but it's all gone through the electoral roll and everything so should be ok. Still has a bank account in old name which I suppose they might quibble about - but most utility bills are in his name so should be ok. Best to find out now anyway!
Right - just had a call to say the boys are on the way with a pizza :j0
