I also find that borrowing a young child can help, especially if they throw their shoes or distract the SA :D

Forget the little child, I might just throw my shoes at the SA if they harrass me. You think I could get away with it? Such fun.

Will be venturing out to Tosco on Thursday. What are the chances of me finding anything? Probably not. Hahaha.

Good Morning all. Hope you are all OK.

Can I just ask a quick question, when you go on all these 1p haul visits, where do you pay for them? Surely not a manned till? They would have you hung, quartered and fed to the trouts! Is it the self scan you guys go to or the new scan as you shop tills?

The headphones/earphones Scamps found I am sure are aplenty in my local. I just have no idea how I would get them paid for without being shot! HELP. Thanks in advance.

I went through a manned till yesterday. I didn't have time to do my usual speed scanning on self serve

SA just congratulated me on the find :T

Today i went back and bought the ones i stashed just incase she had said no. :rotfl:

    Morning,

I scan a few bits the only thing what came up at a different price was a Denby set with kitchen tools was 30 scan at 14.50
    Still to much money though!!
I got a dtd on a denby dinner set over a year ago. ended up being free and was sat in the garage (did give it o my ungrateful sis but she gave it back unopened, saying it wasn't her style). Ebay'ed it a few weeks ago. Sold for £30 and she collected it - but drove about 90 mins each way for it  surely not worth that:think: :D

just popped into say I got on the 1p band wagon too - few toffee and caramel yesterday and Elizabeth shaw today - my choccy stash is replenished. Bumped into nicitrwyn in store and also maybe one other lady who was scanning chocs in chocolate aisle - didn't say hello as pretty sure she was not from here as the amaretto chocs were right infront of her and she didn't glance at them at all

    Good morning all,

Sorry to hear such sad news from Sarah about her sister.

My wife and I have been through similar. I'm over it now but my wife is still heartbroken (obviously it will always be harder for the woman to deal with). She wants to try again but I don't and this is causing us more arguments and upset.

On the plus side I managed to pick up some Thorntons 1p toffee this morning, thanks to the OP, not sure who it was, I made a list of items and that was the only one I could find.

    Sad_Dad

Sad dad, i somehow missed this post.:o really sad. Is your wife wanting to try again so she can "move on" mentally? Nothing will take away from your previous child but maybe she wants to concentrate on moving forward. Perhaps it affected you more than you realise :A

Massive hugs to your sister. I know exactly what she is going through. My firstborn DD had this and spina bifida. A scan picked it up and was immediately passed to fetal medicine who confirmed that the quality of life she would have would be minimal. I did get a second opinion before deciding to terminate but it was the hardest thing we had to do.
I did have to go through the birth process and she was born asleep. I don't tell many people the reason but i feel that it helps that your sister is not alone.
SANDS is a charity that helps you come to terms with what has happened and they really helped us in the beginning.
I think you will need to give her lots of support as I became very depressed after and felt guilty of what I had to do.
That was 6 and a half years ago and the pain has eased but there is never a day that goes by that I don't think of her.

This had made me cry, so nice of you to share with Sarah
