    Good morning all,

Sorry to hear such sad news from Sarah about her sister.

My wife and I have been through similar. I'm over it now but my wife is still heartbroken (obviously it will always be harder for the woman to deal with). She wants to try again but I don't and this is causing us more arguments and upset.

On the plus side I managed to pick up some Thorntons 1p toffee this morning, thanks to the OP, not sure who it was, I made a list of items and that was the only one I could find.

And that brings me in a roundabout way to what I get from this forum... I dont have any friends or family that get being MSE, I've tried to explain some of the deals and offers and they just look at me blankly. So finding you guys means I dont feel like a freak, and I'm not alone. It's not just getting the lowdown on deals, but having people to share victories with
    Thanks for being here!

Good Morning all. Hope you are all OK.

Can I just ask a quick question, when you go on all these 1p haul visits, where do you pay for them? Surely not a manned till? They would have you hung, quartered and fed to the trouts! Is it the self scan you guys go to or the new scan as you shop tills?

The headphones/earphones Scamps found I am sure are aplenty in my local. I just have no idea how I would get them paid for without being shot! HELP. Thanks in advance.
  • On a brighter note this morning, I got my "hobnob" cup from Mcvities rewards yesterday. It's now on my desk at work and filled with tea :D

Head to self service mimi, then loiter around until there is a bit of a queue. Dive in when it's a bit busy or the SA is chatting. scan it, bag it, chuck your coins in and [STRIKE]leg it[/STRIKE] walk casually out of the store. then do a little victory dance when you have the receipt and bag in your hand egyptian.gif

Thanks for that TW. I'm thinking I might take someone with me so they can tell the lady/man at the SS tills how gorgeous they look whilst I scan and pay and run. I must remember not to use to my CC in case they track me. I might even put on a wig so they don't recognise me when I next go in for a proper shop. Such fun. Thanks again for your response. Muchly appreciated x x x
  • Morning,
I went to tesco this morning on the 1p hunt. I found the Lindt Carmel choc, put one in my basket went to price check 1p went back and some lady was filling her basket with them :-( not happy lol
She did give me two, ask her if she came on here but she said no, she just looks around and she saw this cheap a couple of weeks ago so thought she would buy them, ummm she must have some info...
Went to self service and the lady asked me if the choc were cheap and how much were they?? So she stood next to me when I scaned and told me a man had been in this morning and brought loads, I just said some lady just brought loads aswell , I got 3 !! We'll 2and a half left now:-)

    Thank you , whoever posted

I scan a few bits the only thing what came up at a different price was a Denby set with kitchen tools was 30 scan at 14.50
    Still to much money though!!

Ive a question re Sainsburys brand match

I had to get a few essentials from Sainsbobs yesterday and I've just checked my rec on their BM website

The Saint Omer Shandy 10X25cl it says is non comparable - I know for a fact that's it is stocked in Asda and its £1.70 - really annoying when this happens.

Is there any point in complaining and if so who to - by email or by phone?

Also annoyed as I had an update from mysupermarket to say the meatballs are £1.50 in sada and I'm wondering when they went down in price.

    1 Mccain Crispy French Fries 1Kg £2.40 £2.00
    1 Whiskas Traditional Gravy Pouch 12X100g £3.68 £2.50
    1 Js White Baton £0.45 Non-comparable
    1 Js Black Pudding £0.70 Non-comparable
    1 Js British 1% Milk 2 Pint 1.136L £0.89 Non-comparable
    1 Saint Omer Shandy 10X25cl (<1% Abv) £2.15 Non-comparable
    2 Mccain Home Chips Straight Cut 1Kg £4.80 £3.00
    Multibuy? £4.00 £3.00
    Multibuy?
    1 Scan Original Swedish Meatballs 350G £1.99 £2.00
    3 Bag Re-Use 20/05/09- Upc1685350 Non-comparable Non-comparable
1 Whiskas Senior Fish In Jelly Pch 12X100g £3.68 £2.50
    1 Whiskas Senior Market Prod Gravy 12X100g £3.68 £2.50
    1 Whiskas Kitten Gravy Pouch 12X100g £3.68 £2.50
    1 Js Apple & Herb Stuffing Mix 130G £0.19 Non-comparable
    2 Basics Sparkling Water 2L £0.34 Non-comparable

I had a points till spit for cat food and milk and the stuffing was on the reduced shelf.
I wonder why they say the water is non comparable?

put a scarf and/or hat on, with large Jackie O sunglasses when in store - I'm sure you won't draw attention to yourself that way ;):rotfl:
I also find that borrowing a young child can help, especially if they throw their shoes or distract the SA :D
