    morning all x

not a good day yesterday with my sister we have to go back to London and she will need a termination. The hydrocephalus has taken over the brain and given the fact of 14 weeks left the little baby would have no quality of life or probably do anything for himself. The case is marked as severe :(

off to m&s today for food today will try and take my mind off things

    thanks for listening x

Awww so sorry to hear that

Sarah, ekroys, sad_dad and tiger I'm so sorry to read all your sad news. *bigs hugs*. Thinking of you all xx
Cherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.

No matter how you feel, get up, dress up & never give up.
  • Good luck to all those finding 1p bargains! A bit frustrating that I can't get out but with all glitches you have to take the long view, I'll miss out on the instore ones for now, but poised for any online ones!

Sadly just seen the postie go past so no Tesco conditional vouchers for me. I'm sure I'm teaching you all to suck eggs, but I thought I'd detail the ways you can still benefit when a relatively big spend is required.

    1. Consider whether you could use any giftcards? These will work with your conditional spends (the T&C's do say no so choose your SA carefully. I've bought loads over time (you get a bonus 150 points for £50 worth). One option if you've got the time and store nearby are Homebase gift cards. Homebase sell Boots and M&S gift cards (very useful for the current M&S glitch). You will also earn Nectar points on giftcards bought at Homebase (again SA's may think not but get them to scan anyway) so double bubble. Again, SA's at Homebase can be unsure but ask them to check with superbisor/ manager and in my experience they go for 'computer says yes' option, see if it works.

    2. Consider maximising a PP for a larger than normal spend with a voucher back. Takes a little time on MYS but if you buy high value items that are half price elsewhere (dishwasher tabs/ coffee/ toilet rolls etc) you can bump up your shop.

    3. Sell on eBay. Again something i've done in the past, especially if you have 2+. You tend to get half the value of the saving back (I sell as BIN). One watch out is make sure the online codes are covered up in the photo. I sold some last year as the valid dates were when I was on holiday. Got contacted by person I sold them to who said that they wee refused in store. Can be certain but think someone used the codes!

with this type of thing I approach them before scanning the item so that they can remove it, keep them away from the screen at all costs :)
