Hi guys, hope everyone is well and making the most of the category changes!

Just a question - I was googling earlier and saw that several of my reviews have been posted on a website called 'helpful opinions'. I clicked on the website and I saw reviews under several names I recognise from dooyoo and my username was next to my reviews. Anybody know what this is all about? I get that when you submit a review to the internet you're putting it 'out there' but are other sites allowed to fully repost information like that? They reposted a review I only put up 2 minutes ago that hasn't even received a rating on dooyoo yet. It appears to be a wordpress site.

I've contacted the owner of the website, who I'm sure will see it very soon, as this is copyright infringement on a serious scale, of which I will happily inform Google adsense and Wordpress, as well as any required authorities.

This website was only created back in October 2013 and it is clearly someone who is using our reviews on the internet, without our consent or transference of copyright, to make money via Google Adsense.

If they don't reply within the next 48 hours I will carry through my comments as Google take copyright infringement very seriously, I've had to contact them before (for a different website).

What's happening with that website? I saw that you posted on dooyoos Facebook about it Katy, did they ever reply? My reviews have been posted on there so I'm not happy either x

If you are on Ciao can you post your reviews of the same item to both Ciao and DooYoo?

Was on Ciao a few years ago to help fund my last year of uni, thinking about going back to it but DooYoo sound interesting too.

Yes you can post on Dooyoo & Ciao, some members just state at the bottom where else their reviews can be found, I post on both and don't bother with that.

daniella - The person who owns the website has chosen to hid their information behind a company operating out of Panama, presumably to protect their identity as they're someone well known on there! I've made a DMCA report for copyright infringement to both the host of their website and Google Adsense, I have heard back from both companies that this matter is being investigated and I've filed the necessary forms to get the website stopped.

Sure the bar steward doing it is reading my posts and thinking that they're perfectly safe - well they bloody well aren't! I've had this problem once or twice before and I always get things sorted, as copyright is law, simple.

I will update once I have more information

Sorry for going a bit off-topic here. I've just rejoined Ciao after a few years absence (new user name Theatre_goer) but I've just tried to log on tonight and my account has been blocked!

I thought perhaps it was because I had cross-posted a few reviews from Dooyoo (user dbarcl10) and I have noted at the end of the review that it's on Dooyoo under my username. But if this is allowed then maybe not...

Any obvious reasons why Ciao would block an account? I have contacted them so hopefully they will reply soon
