    Mortgage-free Glee!
    Morning everyone!

    Haven't posted for ages!

Working at home again today but getting a bit stir crazy! Will have a chat with my boss this morning and if there isn't likely to be any customer visits required, I think I will drive down to the house by the sea and catch up with Mum and Dad. OH can drive down on Friday to join me. It means I can see how my veg is doing!

Bit to do today on the household front. Strip the bed and wash covers, iron new covers plus a bit more ironing to do.

I managed to pick up a butcher block trolley for the kitchen for £15 from eBay. We went to collect last night - I am really chuffed with it, its just what we needed (we have little storage and my BM, SCs and mixer were making negotiating the broom cupboard impossible! Now I can simply wheel out the trolley to get to the cleaning materials!)

Sent OH off with a bento box style lunch today! Will see what he thinks later!

I have got to knuckle down and get organised for my diet. I would dearly love to lose some weight for my wedding in September. Will be measuring and weighing myself later

    Have a great day everyone!
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

    Goodmorning all

Just flicked the kettle on for my first cuppa of the morning... only have today and tommorow before i have to pack PC away for removals on Friday... so i thought i would pay a visit and get my fix.........before getting some more packing done:A

6 whole weeks without visiting you guys....OMG im hyperventilating at the thought of all im gonna miss:eek: ...still just think of all i will have to catch up on :j ...

Had a minor victory against specs on the net yesterday..they have refunded my money and sending me my 2 pairs of glasses for free:T ..its only £40.47... but its mine and i have it back:j ....

Hubby is off golfing with work so that means no meals to cook for me today:D
So today im gonna get some packing up done...have the guy from the removal firm coming later to work out how much room we need-the answer to that is lots:rotfl: ....still i have packed most myself..much to hubbies irritation! The army pay for our packers/removals but hubby doesnt get that when they pack they pack everything as they find it..a friend ended up with empty pop bottles, used mugs and allsorts... at least if i pack myself when i open a box at the other end i can see 1 item and know what else is in there with it!!!..........

Then as a treat to me i am gonna have 1 final flick through my cookbooks before they get packed:eek: well through some of them..i had 55 when i last sorted out and that wasnt including all the cookery mags:o so im gonna sort out a couple of menu plans for when i get to Germany ...using up lots of the dried beans, peas n pulses i am taking with me of course:D

Anyway enough waffling...hope you all have a good day and if i dont speak to you later or tommorrow i will no doubt catch up with you in 6 weeks:j

Im late for work...just sitting here.should get a move on.
Ds has an exam today so he got the school bus and i have to pick him up later and take him to his work experience job. He said that they had a bulldog in at the weekend...He was fine for a couple of days but then started to bite all the staff (going for ankles) ouch. One worker was bitten quite badly on the arm so the kennel owner had to phone the owners (on hols in gt yarmouth) and they had to come back home to get him...what a shame for them.. nightmare!!!!

Anyway must get off to work will drop in later..

oops a daisy... hope you have a better day today...keep that chin up

morning all and hugs to those who need/want them.

well I'm using the last of my leave to wait in for the washing machine man but still no sign.
last night's Tesco delivery came WITH carier bags even though I had specified that I didn't want them. the man said not to worry as I woudl still get my points but that customers had complained about their shoppin being squished os they brought the bags anyway. I offered to empty the bags there and then so he could take them but he declined saying he didn't have time - what is the point!
The first of the school prospectuses (prospecti?) came yesterday and I am alarmed to find that St. Eleanor Snooty want 75quid up front for registration and exam fee - yoiks. This probably pays for all the smart packaging and the dvd they sent - it was packaged so poshly I honestly thought it was osmeone's wedding album sent to me by mistake. There are pictures of young ladies playing lacrosse and that's proper posh innit. Dd likes the look of the school and gasped at the class sizes and mention of math's club but i think she would prefer to go to a mixed school - we will see what this morning's post brings. I must also make an appointment with her present school as they have promised to help with the applications.
I have also decided to give exoh the heave-ho again! I am finding it hard to justify/tolerate his presence and think I have been far too nice. He has dumped post glastonbury stuff everywhere before beggaring off to his mum's last night and has been going on an on about the great weekend he had and I'm just thinking - now why didn't I go - oh yes I know - because I can't afford it after frittering away all my money on rent, food, bills and dd while he pays s*d all AND takes home three times as much as me. The final straw came when I found two carrier bags full of bank statements that he said he had started to reclaim the charges for - not one of them is opened. The point of him being here was so he could sort this sort of thing out. I am also worried that people might think that we are a couple (heaven forbid!) and report me to tax credits. Short Sharp Shock time methinks.

have a great day and fingers crossed that the WM man does indeed come today :)

    Morning all

Up early today getting kids ready for their sports festival, packed lunches etc, it is roughly about 12 miles away or so, hope ds1 gets on ok, he has been away by himself only once on a trip and since he is also doing sports i worry that he is going to have a big hypo and i wont be there:eek:

Im sure he will be fine though:rolleyes:

Made mums oat biscuits last night, was a disaster, so mum has told me what to do next time, she thinks i heated the marg up too hot, tip for next time then, do it in microwave:rotfl:

So kids are off with some of mums biscuits.

Paid off the holiday yesterday:j :j so excited, im sure this will change nearer the time though, a couple of years ago when we first went to devon, the morning that we left i was a bag of nerves, mum had to give me valium to calm me down and that was only driving in the car! no idea what i will be like to getting on a plane and going to florida!

Anyway still cleaning to do today, decide what to make for tea and put more bread on.

    Hugs

    Morning all,
Well, thank goodness for OS catering! Dh forgot to set the alarm last night and we woke up at 8.22am:eek: . I had to get two kids to two different schools (ds1 has moved for the last week of term due to some fairly major bullying issues - which is why I haven't been posting) and pack ds1 a lunch. So... last night we had a pork and onion plate pie (inspired by Thriftlady's wartime thread. I cut him a slice of that, buttered a HM bap, 2 of Twink's hob nobs, a banana and his container of squash - lunch in 1 min flat. I love you all:D . Anyway ds1 was only 15 mins late and ds2 25 mins late - and it's the last week of term (NI get all of July and August off) and the way the school behaved over ds1 last week, do I care........? At least he's off to grammar school in Sept.

We're laying an extension to the patio at the moment where the oil tank used to be - no-one could come and do it befor Sept so dh decided we'd do it - and it's looking good - although I don't think that we're saving that much money as we're all eating twice as much because of the labour:rolleyes: Still we have discovered an OS way to move paving slabs - load them onto one of the skateboards and wheel them into place!!!

N9eav - well done and glad to hear that your neighbour is ok.
    Crazychik (((((hugs)))))))
Hugs to anyone else that needs one.

It's very overcast and windy here at the moment - and a few spots of rain have just appeared - hope we're not getting any more rain - we had our floods here in E Belfast 2 weeks ago, and whilst the house was ok, it was very hairy driving to pick up the kids from school - my front wheels started to float for a few seconds - scary! How are you doing, Taplady and anyone else affected?

Off to tidy out the cupboard under the stairs:eek:   - I may be some time!

    Morning :hello:

N9eav - so pleased your neighbour is still doing OK :T
AussieLass this year is going so fast, I can't believe you're back home already :(

Colleague has just hinted that next month's pay rise (which we get annually for increased cost of living plus a tiny performance-related element) will be higher that I was expecting, perhaps over 5% :j :j I hope this is true! Of course I've absorbed all my cost increases as they occurred, so any increase at all is a bonus and will go straight into the savings and/or the Happy Cash pot :D

Concert last night was excellent. And I somehow managed not to run into anybody I knew, so avoided the pub (Central London beer prices - yikes!). Consequently my budget now looks like it will survive the week :j The big test will be tomorrow when a colleague is having after-work drinks.

Oh, I've remembered how I used to waste time in the years before MSE :o I have just rediscovered Minesweeper. The version that comes with Windows Vista looks cool and has sound effects :D I didn't play it on my previous PC as I never had a mouse for it, and it's really difficult to play it with the touchpad... now I have a mouse and I was up till stupid o'clock last night and the night before trying to regain my skill :D (I used to be able to do the Advanced level in under 90 seconds  )

Am reviewing a show this evening. Got free tickets so am taking my former housemate.

    Hope you're all well

    Rzl xx

Morning all ((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))) if you need one....

Another fine morning, no rain but dull and overcast............I hope those of you who may be affected by flooding have not had any further rain overnight.

Waiting for a Tesco delivery today, we had hoped to be at the allotment but as Monday was wet we went yesterday, taking this into account we elected to have the delivery at 4 - 6 pm..................

I am waiting for a parcel from ebay, the plate rack I ordered and paid for on June 5th..........if it has not arrived tomorrow I shall be asking ebay to refund my money, the dialogue I have had with the seller is not really satsifactory, he has made several statements which I am afraid I am rather sceptical about. His e bay score seems ok but I am rather wary. I paid £60 including postage and taking into account that he was making it to size for me, I would have expected to have recieved it.

Nothing really planned, I have a load of washing to go in, but will wait until after lunch to put it in...............its quieter in the laundry then.

Still finding it strange without the dresser, but do like the extra room we have in the sitting room, it will be much easier to clean now.

    Right off for a cuppa.........................
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

    Morning all

Everyone sounds very productive this morning.

Love the idea of moving paving slabs on a skateboard - sounds like something I'd do.

I've swished and swiped, hoovered and dusted, the parrot is clean and fed, WM is on final spin and I've been to the post office and sent off 3 ebay parcels (£28 this week!! whohoo)

Just having 10 mins with a cup of tea before I go tackle the front garden - some of the weeds in the lawn have sprung up to waist hight in just over a week - can't win - last year the lawn died because of the drought - this year it's like living on the marsh.

DD2 is still home - she was feeling much brighter yesterday afternoon but by bedtime she was in tears with the pain in her ears - she's just walked to the post office with me - literally 5 mins walk - and she's flaked out on the sofa again - teacher did send home some work yesterday so at least we can make a start on that when she's feeling a bit brighter.

    Hugs to all in need.
    Have a great day.

Edited to say: Just used the tesco £10 off £25 again with my other tesco account, I had a delivery yesterday - lots of bogof items so including delivery it came to just over £9 - can't be bad...worth a look to stock up. Code is on the tesco vouchers board.

    I've been Money Tipped!
    :hello: Morning!

I have been reading the threads about the flooding on the arms and discussion threads and feel for all affected by this, have to agree the government would have made a bit more fuss if it happened in London! Really glad my brother is ok, he can't get into work and has water in the garage but they are ok.

Well I am now celebrating with a strong :coffee: having got my all clear letter from the clinic. Have not forgotten that 2 of our lasses were not so lucky (((hugs))) to 2 very brave ladies and I will not forget the fear I felt on discovering the lumps. Please, please be vigilant ladies and check regularily, if treatment starts soon enough it can be cured.

Now to sort out the fruit and veg box which this week has bananas, oranges, a melon, potatoes, onions, carrots, cucumber and a pointed cabbage. Off to menu plan!

Our lovely neighbours from across the road are moving today, we will miss them, hope the new folk are as nice and easy to get on with.

    (((hugs)))
