Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning everyone
Can't sleep, lol what's new!
N9veau - any word of your neighbour? I'm sending good wishes to him, and hope that he got to the medics in time.
All's quiet here - quite literally all is quiet - there was an army base right beside where I live, and due to the peace process and "normalisation" of N.Ireland it has been closed. The last soldiers departed on Monday - so no more helicopters! Believe me, they were noisy beasts, especially in the middle of the night.
AussieLass - aww your wee dog Benny! He must have missed you like crazy when you were over here.
Apologies to anyone else who I have missed. I know some of our regulars are going through bad times, so big hugs to all who need them.
Bye for now.
Snowy

Morning everyone.
Looks dull and cloudy again. Off to work soon. For those that are interested, my neighbour seems to be responding to treatment in hospital after the heart attack drama of yesterday. It seems we got to him in time for him to survive. Should know more later today.
Other than that, I also mended my fridge :j . That saved me a £50 call out.... It seemed that an big ice build up had stopped the air circulating properly.. Please about that too.
Not much else going on... pretty boring day I think. I was supposed to be going on the Padstow lifeboat tonight for a trip with some work mates, but they cancelled due to a rescue this week. Still looking forward to the re-schedule.
hey ho.. have a nice day.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Goodmorning everyone,
This being on the first page of the thread without having to wake up at the crack of dawn is great.I'm having my afternoon cuppa atm. Sunny, windy day here so it was perfect for my mountain of washing. I now have a mountain of ironing.
Got a call from a GF this morning. They have put an offer in to buy a block of land on the island next to me. Hope they accept. It will be nice to know that eventually they will move down this way.
Ol Sour Puss at the shop hasn't changed much. Went down there this morning at 8.45am to get some mower fuel. Walked in and asked for it, and she said Oh, No I couldn't possibly get it atm. This is my busiest time. You'll have to come back at 9.30am. I looked around and I was the only one in the shop. The fuel is kept just at the side. It would have taken all of 2 mins. So I fronted up again at 9.45am and said, Could I get some fuel now if you're not too busy. There was still no-one in the shop. Benny got 2 walks out of it, so he was happy.
It was freezing last night. I had to use my hot water bottle.Well I still need to vacume upstairs here so better start. DH is asleep on the bed snoring. He's had enough sleep so the vacume should wake him up.
Hope you all have a nice day. Byeeeeeeeeeee
Snowy You will notice the difference. How's kitty coming on?Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Good morning everyone
Woke at 5.30 with a torrential downpour so I think I can guess what the weather's going to be like today. Just glad I did all my washing yesterday and got it dried on the line. I also got my kitchen floor washed too. :j I like to leave the back door open so that it dries quickly and yesterday was just the day to do that.
n9eav excellent news on your neighbour. I'm sure he must be so grateful to you. Good news on the fridge front too.
I think I will pick one of the runner beans that DD has grown from the science experiment she did at school. She can take in today. They did a seed experiment but then most of the kids threw their seeds away at the end - even though they had germinated. We planted ours and now have HUGE runner beans on the stalks. Free food - I love it!
My peppers and tomatoes are developing nicely - albeit very slowly - and my carrots are due to be picked any day now.
Last day at work this week, so it will be a busy one as my boss always seems to treat a day's holiday as though I'm going away for a month. Looking forward to an extended weekend's break.
Dinner tonight is leftover chilli from yesterday with leftover rice. Must go to supermarket though as I'm running out of quite a few things. Might visit ASDA to see if I can get the Flora special packs mentioned in Martin's article. No harm in getting free money, is there?
((((hugs)))) to all who need/want one. Have a wonderful Wednesday. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Good Morning All
Just enjoying my last 10 mins of peace and quiet with a cup of coffee. Weather overcast here today and is chilly
N9eav - so glad your neighbour is doing ok.
Plan of action today - 1st job is to phone pc man, internet was working lovely on my new laptop yesterday then suddenly stopped, so will phone him 1st thing and hope he can help me fix it over the phone. Atm im on the internet in the front room and all my paperwork is in the office.
Other than that have to update my banks and rewrite my Health and Safety for both our business'. Its not a fun job and getting all the drivers to read it is even worse. Need to look into more stuff as soon drivers need to have training each year - will have to find the best way of doing this. Also need to go out and buy some more no-smoking stickers for our vans - the ones we have got keep coming off!!
Will hopefully clean the kids playroom today - one of my worst jobs and change and wash the kids bedding - reckon that will have to go in the tumble dryer.
Roast pork with all the trimmings tonight including roast marrow which I love.
Have a great day.0 -
Hi every1!!
Awwwwww - I've missed you guys!! I haven't posted for over a week as haven't even had time to switch pc on and it's gr8 to have a read through and catch up on how every1 elses lives are going!!
I'm back at w**k today (haven't been in this week coz had exams at college). Am going to try and get a few bits and bobs on way 2 pick kids up after work b4 walking dog and doing tea. DD1 wants to go swimming after school - I don't know if it's just being lazy but once I get in after work/tea/washing up etc it's a real effort to go back out.
So far this morning, WM and TD on and packed lunch made. Dog fed and watered and ready to be walked when DD's wake up.
I've got no idea what to do for dinner - my OSing has gone out the window lately. I need to do a storecupboard list and take it from there methinks.
Hope every1 has a lovely day.

Good Morning all
Your comments about sour puss at the shop made me laugh, we have a little village shop & one of the assistants in there is like that, always complaining that she can't serve you as she it too busy tidying the shelves. I sometimes wonder if these peope realise that without customers they wouldn't have a job?
I seem to be permenantly tired at the moment & wondered why, then I made a list of what I do during the day & now I know why I'm tired.
Yesterday I got up at 5, made a cuppa for me & hubby, packed his lunch & took him to the station.
Got home at 6.15, fed fish, Thumper & Ogden, unloaded WM & DW, hung washing on line.
Got tea out of freezer, ate breakfast, posted on here, got ready for work, left at 7ish.
Got to work at 7.30, spent all day photocopying & walking round delivering it, had a 20 min lunch break, rest of the day I was on my feet.
Started 2nd job at 3.30, didn't finish till 5 due to indecisive boss. Shopped on the way home as I'd run out of flour & yeast.
Got in at 5.30, cooked tea, a loaf of bread & 2 weetabix loaves, made sandwiches for lunch boxes, served tea, cleared away & set up sewing machine at 7.30, sewed till 9.30. did an hour on the phone job whilst online checking ebay. Had a shower at 10.30, fell into bed at 11:30 with my hair still a bit damp. Got up at 5 and started all over again.
Is it any wonder when the people at work ask me what I watched on TV last night, I've never watched anything, lol.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Hugs Hester

Morning all
First of all, well done N9eav :T How fantastic to know you saved someone's life, you must be thrilled :A
Not raining here atm and I actually got some washing out yesterday as we had sunshine, but :grouphug: to those who were flooded.
Work today, which is OK as I love it, so beef casserole in the slow cooker for DH, and I have a spag bol defrosting.
Hope everyone has a good one xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0
