My question was answered in #2 so that information wasn't really needed was it?

Just goes to show that this is a sellers forum. Maybe those who don't wish me to buy from them should post their eBay user name so that I can avoid them.

I wouldn't say that it's a seller's forum. But, there are sellers on here who seem to have a very unrealistic (in my opinion) view on how ebay transactions and ratings should proceed. And these people will often be rather aggressive in propounding their views. There are people here who have, in my opinion, a more balanced view, and some who are pro-buyer. But, they tend to post less often, And, as you seem to be doing, also lose interest in threads that stretch on forever filled with posts from people who insist that the seller is always right, no matter what.

In my opinion, items shouldn't be marked dispatched until the seller has returned from the post office. I wouldn't mark down for an extra day or two that would result from an item being left in a postbox. Though, I'd appreciate a seller saying on their listings that items are dispatched on weekdays only and ... That would help manage my expectations. If I was the seller above who uses the postbox, I would try to mark the item as dispatched at the time I expected it to be picked up from the postbox.

But, and this is a very big but, up above, there was a comment that an item is automatically marked as dispatched when a paypal address label is printed out. That's ridiculous, and in my opinion makes the ebay 'system' at fault here. With both buyers and sellers being victims of that idiotic decision.
