It's young now.
yes, but 40 WAS old! I can remember watching the first episode of Corrie wayyyyyy back, and thinking Annie Walker was in her sixties at least - when she left about twenty years later, she looked younger than when she started!
Grans were Grans in those days - they didn't have black or pink hair, were into heavy metal, had tatts...................! I cant decide if that's a 'good' or a bad thing. being a gran with tatts and into heavy metal (and have been since the 80s).
on the 'gran' side I can and do knit and crochet, babysit etc.0 -
I remember when I was a nipper growing up in the 60s, a real treat at Christmas were tangerines. They were totally unlike the tangerines you get today. They were smaller, easier to peel, easier to pull the segments apart, sweeter, and totally wonderful to eat.Wearing my other one today.0

When I was in my mid teens (1960 mark) I loved a perfume called Chantilly. I thought even the name made it sound French and chic. I always thought it was made by Coty but a quick Google has revealed it is STILL available under the Dana brand. I wonder if it is as nice as I am remembering?! I thought I was so glamorous and sophisticated when I first started using it!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

Does anyone remember from the 60s Apple Blossom by Helena Rubenstein? I think almost every girl in my office wore it, and I don't think it was a very subtle perfume either.

Chantilly was originally manufactured (or marketed) by Houbigant. I remember their Quelque Fleurs scent as well.
I miss Smiths crisps with the little blue salt sachet in the bag.
Anyone remember Frother bars? They were a hot favourite of the penny sweets along with Fruit Salad and Black Jacks.0 -
Do you remember the Tip-Ex (think it was that make) strips, that you put into the type writer when you'd made an error, and typed over them to correct the error?
Also the carbon in the middle of 2 sheet of paper to make a copy for the file?
(I don't miss it-just remembering...............):j0 -

I bought some of this on Amazon this year. I don't think its quite the same as the original but it brought back a lot of memories. Another perfume I used to adore and miss is Elegance by Avon. Also my Mum used to wear In Love by Norman Hartnell.0
