My sister lives in SW6. It's all nannies and private school for the kids and pampering/gym daily for the mums. Such a world away from here. But I'd rather DD be outside playing in mud and puddles than being groomed for Roedean.
Ps - my friend lives in a house so tiny it's footprint would for in my living room! But she plans on homeschooling and the kids just love being there because there is so much stuff to do. And they go out to find space for their DD to run around. Kids don't need fancy things.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
Pack my bags I'm off to London!!
...Actually screw that prefer being a stay at home mummy (I am not a spa and pedicures gal anyway) ..saying that I might be just in a good mood ATM as both kiddies are with grandma and I just had a shower... happy moment.
O and my 4month old seems to get bored but he is quite happy on his play mat for now, he just loves attention ...if your not talking to him he starts moaning so lucky tigger keeps him entertained (the only one left hanging as eldest has pulled them all off but I am refusing to let the last one go)
Are jumperoos really that worth it? How long do they last for is it worth it now youngest is 4months?People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -

I passed it on to my SIL who has used it for 2 babies and then passed it on (without asking) to another SIL. So no, not worth it for me, but if there are 4 children that will use it its wirth trying to get on (there are loads second hand).Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
not read all the replies so sorry if repeat anything
is your 3yr old having their free nursery sessions that might give you sometime with your youngest and maybe tire the 3 yr old out a bit
i agree with trying to get out it definitely helps0 -
Jumperoos are a godsend. My LO was a bit later than some going into hers because she was on the small side. I used to put a cushion underneath first so she had something to jump off - on the plus side she stayed in it a bit longer - probably till 14 months or so. But they are safe and secure and you can leave them for a short while to get stuff done.
My LO wore herself out so much once, I have a photo of her slumped and asleep in it!

Jumperoos are fab - I never had one with my first - but my second got SOOOOO frustrated when she couldn't sit up... and crawl... and stand up... and now she's being a grouch bag because she can't walk (she only crawled a fortnight ago and stood up last week but she's soooo impatient!) and it really saved my sanity. Only problem is my kids are so tall (the youngest is over the 98th centile for height) that she outgrew it really quickly - but she's more the size of a 12-18 month old than a just turned 10 month old. She was blooming unbearably bored and frustrated at the 5 month mark... had a brief respite when she cracked sitting, crawling and standing within the space of about 3 weeks and now she's back being grumpy over the not being able to walk thing!
As for bad days - last week started with me moving the table slightly to do breakfast for my two (21 months and 10 months) and managing to snap the leg off. The week did not improve from then. I've been stuck with no transport and still crippled with SPD since the youngest was born - my mum's finally given in and bought us a second car which hasn't half restored my sanity somewhat.
I know they're a bit hellish at times - but our local soft play does a cheapo morning for toddlers where you can get in for a quid, they turn blind eyes to own snacks being brought in (they still make a mint selling cups of coffee and hot chocolate) and pretty much every toddler parent in the area turns up - it's like a toddler group without the cliqueyness.
Debating getting mine out and about today - it's 50/50 between the "good parent" option of the park, and the more boring option of me needing to go buy a new bra! Coffee man in a van won't be at the park so I think the bra is calling (although in reality I'll crack and spend the M+S gift card on kids' clothes instead). My big problem nowadays is getting food out and about - since the youngest has food allergies it's harder to just pop into a cafe and buy her something.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Hello everyone. This is the first time I have posted and I just want to say THANK YOU. I have just read all the comments on this thread and feel better that I am not the only one feeling rubbish.
I have 3 darling sons, 3, 5, and 10 and I am constantly exhausted. I have been separated from my husband for a year now. I had to move out as he wouldn't leave the house. So we are now in rented accommodation. The boys have changed schools and are settling well making new friends. But I am constantly tired. My ex has the boys every other weekend. Instead of going out enjoying myself I end up catching up on the sleep I have missed the previous 12 nights.
I have lost any self esteem I had, I don't enjoy being on benefits and feel I am losing the will to live.
Sorry for the rant but its just nice to connect with some like-minded people x0 -
I can't remember what age we first put my son into the Jumperoo. I recall that baby has to be able to keep their head upright before they can use it though..is it from 6 months or something?
Desperate for something new to occupy DD. She is no longer happy just kicking about on her playmat with her toys or in her swing chair. She sleeps really well on days we go out in the pram, but the weather has been so grotty recently. Her naps at home don't last longer than about 20 mins at a time. Looking forward to when there is a bit more structure to her napping so I can arrange stuff around those.

Just to add to my list, haha, my eldest (5) is still in a nappy at night. Have tried a few times for her to be dry at night, but I ended up changing her bed at 10pm as she didn’t even seem able to last between bedtime and then. And she never woke up. She just lies in it! But she is starting to get a tiny bit of a complex about it, so hoping she will be dry soon, but in her own time, not mine. My youngest (3) has been dry day and night since she turned 2, so it can’t be something that I’m doing wrong.
And I loved Frozen too. Just can’t get the damn songs out of my head! I’m always at a loss as to what do with my girlies at the weekend. I tend to not contact friends too much as they have their husbands at home and I figure weekends are family time. But my eldest loved the cinema. We sat there and just ate loads of popcorn on a Sunday morning. Was great. Gona look into the kids’ club where kids and adults get in for £1.35. And they do an offer on popcorn and drinks. You buy a drink and popcorn for £1.25 each (so £2.50) and you get a chocolate bar for free. And there was plenty of popcorn for that £1.25.
The only thing I forgot to warn my daughter about was that it would be loud. But after the initial shock, she was fine.
Metranil Vavin – I don’t worry so much about what my friends’ kids are doing, but I do try and stop her having the dummy too much when we are out. Like picking up my eldest from school for example. But if she happens to have it in her mouth, then so be it.

DD is really gripey this afternoon. Nothing I do seems to make her happy, and she has been doing funny smelling poo's the last day or so. It might be the onset of teething I guess, but she certainly isn't happy.Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0
