I don't blame him, I blame Apple.
The kids have an apple ID that they can use to download free apps for the ipad, no problem there as there isn't a card associated with the account. On Saturday my eldest daughter wanted a 69p app so I bought this using the same apple id. When you need to buy an app then apple gives you a screen to input card information, which I did.
At no point does it state that the ID is saved and available again if another purchase is requested.
So, not realising that the credit card information is saved, I left it at that. Tonight when I came in my 8 year old told me he was looking at a £150 app because he wondered why it cost so much and it started downloading, (obviously he must have signed in for this process to begin). My eldest daughter cancelled the download right away, but a quick check on the apple id shows that we've been billed £150 :eek::eek:.
The app isn't downloaded, nobody wanted to download it and I didn't realise the card information was stored after using once. What the heck do I do now?

Ring Apple ASAP and make sure in future no one else knows passwordHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

Phone Apple and see what they say. They might give you a refund.
Alternatively, click this link http://reportaproblem.apple.com/
Then click report a problem and from the drop down menu select, I didn't authorise this purchase.0 -
Thanks for the quick replies, very much appreciated. Where on earth do I find apples phone number?Pants0

Their contact details are here:
http://www.apple.com/uk/contact/
Any of the main numbers should hopefully put you through to someone suitable.
If you're wanting to make any purchases on future on Itunes or anything similar (Android Play store, Xbox market etc.) I would recommend using a prepaid card - they're readily available and it means at worst, only the credit available can be drained.

I wouldn't let 8 year olds download apps, free or not. Most now have in app purchases where you buy 'coins' for vast prices.
Once the game is downloaded if the settings on the device aren't right coin purchases can be made with the click of a button.
Password protect everything and don't register a card. If they want to make purchases let them buy gift cards.0 -

So, you registered your card with Apple, which means that it is now associated with that account, on which you all use the same password?
Once the card is registered anyone knowing the Apple password can use it.
It's like having an account with M&S, ebay, or Amazon, once a card is registered anyone with password can use it.
Don't blame the kid or Apple, pay for your error.0 -

Some of the in app purchases are staggeringly disproportionate, one click to buy fairly worthless items in game can be $99 and that can be done multiple times in a short period of time. Of course people should be responsible with their own money but there clearly needs to be some restrictions on applications as well as some of them are completely ridiculous at the moment.
