You have to consider this from the other side too..
You see it as a flawed system because once card information is stored (which you have sign in for it to use) it does what it says on the tin it stores it so next time you just click purchase, you see this as a way to accidentally buy things...
Others who use their ipad/ipod/phone on a day to day basis for music, films, everything, want to be able to click purchase and have it and not to have to keep typing stuff in.
They make that you have to enter something all the time and you have the daily users complaining to apple that they put a password in why do they have to do more...
I used to have an ipod touch, and bought all my music through itunes I'd of hated to have to keep putting my card details to do so.
They can't please everyone.

Absolutely not pixtotts. You confirm your card details are correct but you certainly do not agree anywhere to it being stored, nor is that word used at any point. This seems to be a common misconception on this thread which means others can so easily be caught out. By default card AND security number details are stored ready for use next time, BY DEFAULT. That is fundamentally wrong and flawed.Pants0 -

you'll see that I edited my post. I realised it read wrong
Oh of course unless they got rid of the sign out button... I moved to android last year so can't check how it is now.I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.

Apple have already agreed with US authorities that children should not be able to buy apps.

Its only right that the same applies here.
But if all you lazy parents spent time with your children - instead of banging them in front of gadgets, that may pose a risk to their health and well-being - the world would be a much better place.0 -
The big companies aren't always the bad guys, although the press make them out to be, still good to beat someone with a stick I suppose, if it makes you feel better.
Think of the millions of customers, and you only ever hear about those with a problem as they bang the drum the loudest.
I think Apple have been very fair, it's a flawed system, but perhaps not letting kids loose without properly locking things down would help.
Just to prove my earlier point: a colleague had a MacBook 1 month out of warranty which developed a fault, Apple had no legal reason to repair/replace. Spoke to the guys in the shop (Cambridge if that is important) and within an hour they'd agreed to replace as a gesture of goodwill, even porting all the users data across. Imagine if you'd get service like that from PC World...
Still each to their own.0 -
everyone is jumping on the 'it was my childs fault ' bandwagon these daysi dont have any sympathy for anyone irresponsible to let there child loose on an ipad or any other internet enabled device unsupervised
you hear it all the time and then they have the cheek to blame apple or google or whoever except themselves
any parent who does this should have they apple account suspended , then see how many kids are blamed0 -
Can't agree with that WTFH. Apple products are fantastic, but the best MSE line would be to use prepaid cards for kids app purchases only.
I don't agree with it either - but it is the standard MSE line.
I do have an issue with children using devices not meant for them (this is not a dig at you in particular), and think that Apple would make life easier for themselves if they only sold the product to responsible adults. Make the iPhone & iPad over 18s only and make sure that the AppleID belongs to the bill payer.
If the kids want something to play games on, get them a Samsung or a Nintendo.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -

Again, then why the Apple refund?0 -

Nice try techspec, but you'll notice I wan't around posting on this thread for a large chunk of last night as I was busy coaching my youngest daughters football team for 2 hours. Thanks for judging me with pre concieved "daily mail" reader attitude though.Pants0
