  • Morning all

It is ridiculous the costs of some of these trips isn't it Harry. Totally feel for you there. I actually know of a 13 year old who went to America with his school for 10 days & it cost his parents £1800!!!! Sure the teachers sit there and go, right where do we fancy going on hols this year? Absolutely bonkers.

Made my PAD already. Got most of the work done last night so only about 5% left to do.

In fact need to go do that now so have a good day everyone! :) xx

I don't think LMG would go to America without me. We love it there and she knows I would be devastated if she went without me. I was lucky this year as she wanted to do a local thing for suspended timetable so it only cost me £60 and a couple of packed lunches.

I post what I put in my sealed pot but I don't keep a running total. I have no idea how much is in there, it will be a surprise in November. I'm quite excited about it this year as I do know there is a £20 note in there and I have been potting more than usual :D

  • Hi GAP

No, I don't think I could let Littley go to America on her own either, especially at that cost. I know the trip involved lots of parks & NASA & stuff like that but I think if we did decide to do the trip we could probably do it for about the same cost for the two of us!!

I'm not keeping a running total either but I do know there's £20 of 50ps in there that was won at the school fete so that's a bonus. Be lovely to see everyones totals in December won't it! :) xx

I don't think we would manage to get it as low as £1,800 for the two of us for 10 days (although we do have a favourite hotel so that could be what keeps our cost up, maybe it would be possible with a budget hotel) but we could go for less than double that. I would just be so envious if she went without me!

That was a great idea putting the £20 of 50p's that you won in! I love the sealed pot :D

SASSY!!! I have just spotted (if I am reading your signature correctly) you have less than £1k to pay until your debts are all paid off! Am I right? If so, that's fantastic! You are on the last leg now :D

  • Morning everyone

Another bright & sunny day which is great as got gardening to do but not so great as I'm soooooo tired!! I have a valid reason this time though lol.

Took Littley to Legoland yesterday with the Sun's free tickets and had the best time. I had already budgeted to take her there so instead thought I'd use the money saved to let her spend on whatever she wanted. She decided a packed lunch from home & a spree round the shops. Sounds good to me! She actually came in around £40 under the amount (which I hadn't told her) so I'm very chuffed.

However because we live so far away it was a long drive each way and an early start/late finish. Yet she's still gone in to school today as she felt she needed to see her bestie before they break up this afternoon.

Made a PAD today. Didn't get a chance to make one yesterday but that's fine. I'm not going to beat myself up over one day!

GAP - I've got way more than £1k of debt less to pay - I wish it was so little! I've read and re-read my signature a few times now to see how you thought that and still not sure. CC1 on it's own is £7k! I'm working on paying off the higher interest rates first which is why it isn't going down as quick as it could. Once Cat3 has gone I think I'm working my way back through the CCs with CC1 the last one to do. I can't wait for it all to be gone!

Have a good weekend everyone :) xx

Awww noooo.... that's a shame :( I read your signature like, e.g. CC2 total to pay is £1000 and that you have paid £700 of it. I do my signature (usually, apart from the loan) where the bit before the / is the amount I have paid and the bit after the / is the amount I have to pay. So 700/1000 would mean I have 1000 to pay and have paid 700, or paid 700 out of 1000. I thought yours was the other way round, 1000 to pay and 700 paid. I thought this because you have Cat1 and 2 as the figure/paid. Just shows how people think differently! I'm sorry for getting everyone's hopes up. Still cheering you on either way :D xx

When Little Miss Gap and I were on holiday in 2010 there was a huge Lego shop. It was also her birthday so we bought a set, went back to the hotel, sat on the bed and made it up. Loved it!! It's a brilliant memory for both of us, just spending time together. We are hoping to go back to the same place next year so, even although she will be 16, I can see us doing the same thing again :D Lego is great.

  • Morning!

I never really thought about the different ways people do their signatures. I've had to re-read everyones that I subscribe to as think I've got them all wrong! lol I've got £9541.93 of debt which sounds a lot but when I had my LBM it was £16102.62 meaning I've managed to pay £6560.69 off it already. Bearing in mind I also saved to go to Australia in this time I'm amazed at how well I'm doing. I have to keep reminding myself that and maybe I should make my signature a bit clearer!

We loved Legoland and I think we'll definitely be going again next year. Littley may be 10 but she adores Lego and so we'll be going for a while yet.

Made a PAD today and put £4 into the sealed pot.

CC4 is 0% interest and finishes mid-August and my March & May invoices still haven't been paid which is frustrating as that's the money I've set aside to pay it. The really frustrating thing is that they keep telling me they're rushing the payments through as they have a strict 30 day settlement policy but still nothing. I'm hoping it'll come through on their next payment run (5th August ish) so I can pay it off straight away. If not I'll have to have another thunk!

More gardening & work to do today so better get on. Have a good day everyone :) xx
