  • Afternoon everyone

Thank you all for your kind wishes. Littley's reflective corner seemed to work well until she went to bed and realised that it was staring her in the face and so she couldn't get to sleep through thinking about Grandma. So after a few tears she came into my bed with me. I was expecting this as she's been a bit clingy over the weekend but again, it's to be expected.

Nice to hear from you FinanciallyUnsavvy. Glad to hear your moving into your new house this weekend, you must be so excited. I'm sure it will bring you good fortune and you'll have a fab Christmas in there.

Hope you all have a great evening :) xx

Littley didn't sleep in her room again last night but although this may seem like a problem to some it's not for me. She chops and changes between her room and mine as and when she needs me so if that's how she feels then that's what she'll do. She's being a bit short with people which is frustrating but I think it's because it's her way of dealing with things. I've sat her down and said that while I understand she's struggling she needs to remember that others are too and that she needs to find a different way to let her grief out. I didn't want her to go down the angry/bitter route as she's the complete opposite of that. She understood and said thank you for looking after me (which made me cry!) and hopefully we can move on in a more positive manner.

We couldn't book the funeral in until 22nd Dec which is really unacceptable for me but it can't be helped. I really didn't want to have to drag it on for 2 more weeks and on a selfish note, the kids break up for school on the 19th so I didn't want them all to have to go to a funeral in the Christmas holidays. Saying that at least it won't affect her attendance record! lol

My biggest client is going through lots of changes at the moment staff wise including getting a new boss so I'm worried about whether they will keep me on or not. At the moment they're saying I have nothing to worry about but you don't know do you. I'm working extra hard at getting new clients as well as making sure I do the best job possible so they don't feel they have a reason to get rid. It's just another to add to the list!

On a brighter note, I've put some more money across to savings, paid a few bills, rearranged some of last week's work and have done my abs and squats. Slightly aching now so shows it's working!

Have a good day :) xx

  • Morning everyone

Not much to report today. I've done my abs and squats which is an achievement as I'm exhausted but that's a more mental thing than physical I think.

My mum spoke with me yesterday and informed me that as I'd cancelled work last week she was giving me the lost income and it will come out of her inheritance money. Obviously I've told her not to be silly as it was my choice but she's as stubborn as I am so the money came over this morning.

It's hugely appreciated as it was a lot lost (to me anyway) and I was quite concerned as to certain bills I had to pay so this has put my mind at rest. I've put a teensy sum of it into savings and the rest will go on bills.

She's also informed me that she'd been thinking for a while that Littley really needs a new bed and so she has offered to buy her one. Again I'm very much, no no you don't need to do that, but the fact is she does need a new bed and the one she wants is way out of my reach and so I have accepted this generous offer on Littley's behalf.

That's all for today really. I'm counting my blessings and appreciating all the love and support I receive from everywhere, including on here. I probably don't say it often enough but I do appreciate you all and definitely wouldn't be in the position that I am now financially.

    Have a great afternoon/evening everyone :) xx

  • Afternoon Sassy,

Well done for sticking with the abs and squats. I have been keeping them up too and although I am aching all over, I do feel my core muscles getting stronger, which is great for overall health!

What lovely gestures from your mum. I think you are right to graciously accept them, as she will get a huge amount of pleasure and comfort from ensuring that you and littley are not suffering anymore than what would be expected through the normal grieving process.

Be as kind to yourself as you can be over the next few weeks xxx.

Just a quickie to say I'm off to my new job today and I'm nervous as hell!! It's only for a few hours but that's enough and it's going to be interesting to see how somebody else does something I do - hopefully I'll pick up some new techniques that can improve my game!

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Yesterday's job wasn't so bad after all. I eventually got their nearly half an hour late due to their ridiculous security and parking but they understood so it was ok - well, it was their fault!!

I think it will be an ok job and currently it's only 5 hours a week. The woman has around 12 contracts she wants to put my way and she's only done 5 atm so I'm envisaging having them all by the end of the month. Theoretically that's 12 hours a week which will be a lovely amount, both time wise and money wise.

I looked at doing a balance transfer on 2 of my cc today and thankfully did the calculator thingy on here which said I had a 90% chance of getting one which is good but it's 0% until July then 34.9% thereafter which is way more than I pay atm. As I wouldn't be able to clear it by then I don't think I'm going to bother. I know I could do another transfer in July but tbh the % on the other cards wasn't that high. Bit of a !!!!!! but there you go.

    Today I shall be doing:

    My normal work
2 hours of work from yesterday's job
15 min job for an old client
Collecting a lady and driving her to the station
    Wrapping presents
Collecting a relative & delivering him to another
    Operation Wetsuit

I've already had a friend round for a cuppa for her birthday and done all my banking as well as tidy up so it's been quite productive already. I'm not sure writing everything I need to do down though as I'm shattered just reading it!!

Well best get on, have a good day everyone :) xx

  • How exciting, just got an email through saying there was a sale on the Sydney Harbour Cruise that I wanted to book so I took a look and the one I wanted was reduced.

So I have just booked that plus a tour round the Opera House that also had a 10% discount on it as well as my student discount!

It's only a saving of £10.45 which works out at just over 20% saving but if I can do that on everything we can do so much more.

And the main thing is that I'm feeling so crappy and tired atm with everything going on and this has perked me right up - and that can't be bad can it!? :) xx
