  • Evening all!

So today has been a busy day and I've still not finished so am now doing some more work - I'm so tired!! But if I want to have the holidays as free as possible then I need to get it sorted.

My £9 a day challenge total has gone down these last few days but that's due to buying the trips in Sydney plus I decided that Littley needed a day out on Saturday as she's been quite down this last week. It's hardly surprising and we went to the cinema and got a few treats for Christmas and all was good.

That's all, have a good evening everyone :) xx

  • Morning all

Thanks for the kind words Wf8. I try my best, like we all do, and if some of it works then that's fine by me. She was a lot happier when we got home which was a huge feat as the boiler had broken in the morning and due to absolute shocking customer service and engineer didn't come to fix it until 30 hours after I reported it. To make her not feel cold I got the sofabed out and put heaps of duvets and blankets on us and we watched a film together. Making it an adventure certainly helped.

Yesterday I got recommended for a job which I then had to apply for. It was quite nice if I'm honest but I wasn't sure I met all the criteria. To be told by someone who has used my services that I was more than capable for the position certainly gave me an ego boost.

I also got given some more hours from that job I got last week which is fantastic. I'm still worried I'm going to lose my big client in the new year so the extra money is coming in brilliantly at the moment. It's all going into the pot then I can start building up the emergency pot. I probably should do this the other way round but there you go. I'm sensible, but not that sensible!!

I have a training session to give today over video conferencing and I look like a reject from Jeremy Vyle so need to go sort myself out!

Well, must stop gassing and go start working so have a nice day everyone :) xx

I remember you having bother with that boiler earlier on in the year too:o. You had to wait for ages to get it fixed.

Fingers and toes crossed that you keep hold of your big client. Once my debts are cleared I am going to start putting aside a percentage of my income to cover any periods of being out of work too, that is a great idea. All jobs these days carry an element of risk.

  • Blimey you do have a good memory. Yes it was out for a good few months but because it was only in one room it wasn't deemed worthy of the 8 hour round trip it would take to fix it. This time it was the whole house so it was classed as urgent! Although how a day and a half's wait is urgent I don't know.

I'm trying to get as much work done as possible this week but it's going to be tricky today. I have to do a training session at 9am with a bloke who is already late (which is why I'm typing this now, I can't start another project while I'm waiting) then I have Littley's school assembly. She's so excited about it but also a bit miffed as the teacher decided to drop the nativity acting bit at the front. So we get to her the songs and the kids all stand up to speak, but there's no acting as such.

I'm sure it will be lovely anyway although I already feel as though I've seen the whole thing a million times all acted by her!

Have a nice day everyone :) xx

  • I hope Mr 9.00 am appeared eventually!

Looking forward to hearing how DD's nativity non play went. Do the kids still dress up with tea towels on their heads or has the teacher disbanded that tradition too?!!

  • Mr 9.00am sent a message at 9.35 saying he'd had to take is baby to the docs so I think he's excused don't you!?

The assembly was actually quite good. The kids all stood up and narrated the story so it was nice. They also sang some tradition songs like O Little Town of Bethlehem & Away in a Manger and we all had to join in singing the Spanish version of We Wish You a Merry Christmas which was interesting!

Littley was dressed as an angel so each time a bell was mentioned or a star or something she had to stand up with a few others and "jingle" which was cute.

Have 2 busy days ahead of me now with the mystery shop tomoz then the new job at her offices. Then on Friday I've been asked by my mum's work to go in and help move some stuff around as they're being refurbished. And they're paying me for it - can't argue with that! It means that today I've been trying to get all my main client's work done for the next few weeks - and I've made a good dent. I'll finish the rest tonight and tomoz night I reckon.

Have a good evening everyone :) xx

  • It is all sounding very full on, as usual. Are you getting a decent break over the holiday period? I am really beginning to flag now!!

You are a clever bunch of parents! At DS' schools they have struggled to get any of us to sing in English xx.
