  • Thanks hon, as you can tell I was feeling rather smug with myself! I found out after I'd posted that I can also get 10% off my food shopping at the coop down the road so there's an extra bonus!

Yesterday I was given some petrol money from Grandmother that I'd forgotten she said she'd give me so that was a bonus and straight into the pot. It's silly really as it was to do a job for her and I hadn't expected anything for it but it would be rude to say no wouldn't it.

I've checked my countdown app and I only have 125 days to go until we clear off and I'm starting to worry a little about not having enough money. I think I do this every 4 weeks or so. Maybe it's my hormones/emotions being at the worrying stage of my cycle? Or maybe I just get a bit scared. Either/or I'm sure I'll be ok and so long as I carry on the way I have been all will be good. I've been asked to do a few extra hours for the PR company I freelance for so that's a few extra but unfortunately will be used as housekeeping money rather than holiday money as I have no money whatsoever this month. October and the first 2 weeks of November have totally wiped me out. It's just proved to me how organised I need to be for birthdays and surprises as a good chunk of money was spent due to my friend getting married - something I had 2 weeks notice of! I'm a bit worried about Christmas but will work it out. I always do!

Have a good day everyone :) xx

  • Yesterday was a great result and sometimes there is a bit of an anti-climax after a number of successes and a lot of physical and emotional exertion.

Dr Whitefeather prescribes a duvet day:), to re-charge your batteries, is there any chance of that? xx.

  • Hi Dr Whitefeather

Omg, I would love a duvet day as I'm so tired atm but that's not going to happen today. Possibly be able to get away with half of one on Saturday but we'll see.

Today I have yet another action packed day but with not much to do, if that makes any sense whatsoever! I've got my usual work, a price check, waiting for a parcel for Mother, looking after a friend's children, collecting & delivering another friend's child from school to home, taking Littley out for tea then watching Christmas lights being turned on in town.

Oh, just remembered, I applied for a job recently that sounded good but I wasn't sure and out of the blue got a phone call yesterday asking if I was happy to do a telephone interview. Right then. I've no idea how I did and don't actually know if I would want the job but we'll see. If I could do the job in school hours it would be great but there's weekend & late night work on rota - and that's what I'm not keen on atm.

Anyhoo, I'm going to have a quick cuppa then get a wriggle on. Have a great day everyone :) xx

  • I don't know about not much to do, that sounds like 7 jobs to me!!!! It looks like another day where split second timing is crucial.

Child care is such a significant factor when considering a job, but there may be a suitable shift pattern, fingers crossed. Well done on getting an interview xx.

  • Thanks hon

Yesterday went ok. At the last minute my friend got home in time to collect her children so that was one less job I had.

Today isn't so busy thankfully as I'm absolutely shattered! I didn't do my exercises yesterday and so I know I must today or I'll slip out of the habit but I'm just so tired. Goodness that sounded whingey! lol

Have sent Littley in with a poorly tummy today due to feeding her a burger from the Golden Arches shop which was silly as even though she likes them they disagree with her. I don't like getting their food to often but there wasn't many options last night of where to eat.

Today will be spent mostly sitting on the sofa working, then driving, then sitting on the sofa working, then picking up Littley from school, having cuddles and then pizza and sofabed night.

    Can. Not. Wait. :) xx

  • Morning all

Today Littley and I are having our much needed duvet day which so far has been quite successful. Decided to take a look and get Christmas presents organised. Already have all Littley's but wanted 1 more that I wasn't to sure about. I also didn't want to spend too much as 1) I can't afford to and 2) I don't want to! lol So I set myself a time limit and budget and said if I hadn't found what I wanted in half an hour I was to turn off the lappy and take another look another day. I usually spend far to long thinking about what to get people then end up buying something they prob don't want that costs a bomb. Not this year!

Well, that worked wonders and I now have ordered every single present I need except 2 that I am going to get from the double nectar points offer on in Sainsbury's atm. Cheekily one of these presents is for Mother who actually got me 1200 bonus points on a recent shop she did so effectively she's bought one of her own presents :)

My main issue this year was to spend a heck of a lot less and I have. The grand total I've spent is actually quite considerably less than what I spent on Littley last year alone. And I didn't think I'd spent a whole deal then either! Amazing.

So, I'm off to do more nothing and relax.

Have a good day everyone :) xx

  • I think you are right Sassy, good planning is the key. It is the last minute panic buying that decimates a budget.

You are almost sorted and it is only the 23rd November. Well done!

I am glad that you are enjoying your duvet day x.

  • Evening everyone

Today, for the first time EVER! I have got all my Christmas shopping completed well ahead of time. I shall be wrapping them throughout this week so I can send them off to Father Christmas in plenty of time.

I've tallied everything that I've bought and actually came in at less than I thought yesterday so I am so made up. Last year I couldn't decide between 2 big presents for Littley (well, big for me!) so I got both. Really naughty but I could resist. This year I have spent about £45 on her and she still has a big present. I'm so ridiculously proud of this it's ridiculous :):):):)

I've also written my cards for abroad and will post them tomorrow when I go to the Post Office to send an ebay sale. Christmas cards for here are always a bone of contention for me as I don't really see the point in giving a card to someone I see every day anyway. However I do send cards to relatives that I don't see often, including the older ones, as it's nice to remember them. I actually stopped buying cards last year as I'd been putting the left over ones from packs into a drawer and I think I've still got enough to do this year too. Same with wrapping paper.

Right, I'm off to lie in the bath and relax as all this organising is giving me a nose bleed!

Have a nice evening everyone :) xx
