  • Afternoon everyone

I'm writing this as I should be doing my dull as dishwater job but my excuse is my phone needs charging and I need it for the work!

    Only 2 things today.

After the lovely storm we had on Monday I realised that not only were my boots full of holes but that they weren't keeping any warmth in either. I needed a new pair last winter to be honest but thought no, they'll be fine! Anyway, I wasn't sure where I was going to suddenly magic boot money from so I've been a bit naughty and bought them from the catalogue. HOWEVER!! I've bought them on BNPL (9 months) which means I'll shove £5 each week across and they'll be done in no time. I also bought a pair of smart boots as my only pair were also knackered. I can't wear heels so basically have boots, wellies, slouchy/uggs, trainers or slippers! So it's been trainers or slippers since it was too cold for flip flops. Now I've got some lovely new boots for dossing about in and also for meetings, going out etc. And it's interest free, wouldn't have done it if not.

Second thing is I realised today that I'm actually a bit of a doufus! This isn't something that's new to me as I'm often one but today was really silly. As you know I'm doing this rubbish job to pay for the trip to Rottnest when we're in Oz. It's going to cost around $300 and this trip is £300 so I was pretty happy about it.

Until clever little Littley pointed out that £300 is actually more than $300 and so I have some left over money! It's actually $550 and I'd somehow managed to forget to convert it in my head. Such an idiot. Bonus of realising this now is that I've now got an extra $250 to play with and so that's paying for another one of our trips.

That's all, think I've a bit extra charge in the old mobly so best get on with the work.

Have a good evening everyone :) xx

  • That made me laugh! In the space of a post, it had gone from 153 days, to 153 hours, that is true wishful thinking.

I love the way you are using this to motivate you through a tedious job.

I am off to have a nosey at Rottnest Island now, what a strange name!! x

I was going to upload the image for you to see but I can't work out how to do it so if you follow this link, it's the 6th image down with the title "Little Salmon Bay in the morning in spring".

  • I'm trying not to put it as a screen saver until I have a pic I took myself. I'm worried I'll look at it so much I won't appreciate it when I get there.

Yeah, I have no idea how my brain works either lol :) xx

  • Thanks Trixxibell

It's such a great feeling knowing I've achieved that. When I lost those contracts back near the beginning of the year I was convinced that I wouldn't be able to go but picked myself up and booked it anyway. I wasn't sure if it was the right thing at the time and I've worried ridiculously about it but now that's it's all paid off - 2months before it needs to be! - I'm so happy. I'm now saving for (in this order) the school fine, travel to/from Heathrow and then spends. I've £51.98 towards the fine so only need another £8.02 and that'll be another to tick off.

I've just arranged a trial run to drive a lady to the train station every Friday and collect her again every Monday. If it works this will be each week until Christmas. With the petrol costs removed this should give me £180 which will pay for Margaret River trip. I'm no longer thinking in terms of "I need blah blah for spends". Each piece of work I'm getting has a trip or experience attached to it. I'm finding it much more helpful to do it this way.

Anyhoo, best I actually do some work! I've done my price covert job this morning but really need to get some calls done. And then of course there's my main job! I'll be glad to go away and get some rest!

Have a great day :) xx

  • Evening everyone

Been a few days but all has been good with the world :)

The driving gig has worked out well and I've been taken on to do this. The advert said until Christmas but I'm not sure if it's for longer due to things the customer has been saying. Either way I'm happy.

I signed up to a new mystery shopping site last week and got an email saying it took up to 2 weeks to approve you. Got a phone call the next day asking me to do one which I did today. Had to go to a posh shoe shop and for a whole 45mins I was the proud owner of the most gorgeous shoes I've ever seen. I'm not a shoe person but I nearly cried when I had to take them back! Still it's another £12 for the pot and hopefully a bit more work.

Littley and I also went and paid the final sum for our holiday which was such an amazing feeling. So I've changed my signature to reflect how things are going now. Because I'm putting money into my savings a/c every day regardless it seems a bit daft to continue the walking to school money. I'm still going to walk to school as I enjoy the time with Littley & of course the exercise is great, but not the money side of it.

Anyway, as you can see I've put the holiday on there as paid as I think seeing this each time I go on here will make me smile and keep me going for the spends. So the £5 a day challenge has changed to £9 a day and has started from scratch again. This will include:

    Travel to Heathrow - £60
    Travel from Heathrow - £60
School fine - £60 (not confirmed yet)
    Spends/trips - £1000
    Littley's spends - £100 (and climbing!)

This equals £1280. £9 a day over the next 146 days is £1314 which includes any more money Littley earns. Should be doable, correction, it IS doable! I'm already at £30.89 so let's keep this going!

Right, I'm off to get some sleep as I'm shattered. Still doing the dull-as-dishwater job, fingers crossed it'll be finished this week. I'm about 80% through it - thank f*ck!! lol

    Night everyone :) xx

  • It is incredible that you have paid off the full £2,245.00 already AND all your debts are dropping as planned.

You should be really proud of yourself and littley. I love the rest of your plan it is really focused and fun.

  • Morning hon

Thanks for that, it's nice to hear these things said by someone else :)

I've actually worked out a flimsy 5 year plan in my head, although I think it's realistically a 10 year plan, with a long term plan after that. Being ridiculously methodical about my future, Littley's future and even all the way down to her kids & grandkids future! Bit random but I had an hour of kids tv to dream through.

Have a great day everyone :) xx
