  • Hey all

It's been an up-and-down few days. My grandmother got re-admitted to hospital and for some reason her and my aunt thought it only right to shout at my mum about it as mum hadn't rung her in a few days. Seriously? These women have clearly forgotten that my mum had major surgery a few months ago and is still on the mend so when she's not working she's sleeping. So angry at them for being so insensitive to her. My aunt has since apologised and my grandmother shouted at me instead of my mum but that's not the point. I'd like to say it's a one off and it was the stress of having to take grandmother back to hospital but it's not the first time my aunt has done this. Unfortunately they both still see me as a little girl at times so my telling them quite forcefully that I thought they were bang out of order and being unsupportive has shocked them a bit I think. On the other side of that grandmother is ok, she has an lung infection but then she had that when she went in the first time! Our usually good hospital has let her down but at least she's back where she should be.

Sorry, rant over! Just some people frustrate me at times.

Nothing else has happened really. Still putting the pennies away, although more has been spent this week on medicine, tissues and throat sweets as both Littley and I have the lurgy :( Should be fun at physio this morning!!

Oh, looked at budgets and have gone over on some already! A friend of mine is getting married next week and an impromptu hen night has been arranged that's required a deposit for a buffet and a drink which is lovely but I'm more the "one glass of oj" girl so my original budget has been shot to bits. Grrrr. We're also going out for dinner the following week to celebrate it (she's not having a reception) so that's another cost. It was my nephew's birthday and costs were a bit higher than expected there. Mostly because I bought stuff that was supposed to be paid back and it hasn't. But I don't like to ask as I'm sure it's been the other way before!

And finally, Littley informed me that she's cold at school as she doesn't have a winter coat or a PE jumper that fits. Excuse me? Since when!? So made her show me, omg the coat and jumper were so small! So spent another £30 on replacing those last night. However, food/groceries and petrol are still under budget. But if I spread it all out I've about £40 to last the month, hehe aint gonna happen! Ah well, we'll try again next month.

Have a lovely day! :) xx

  • Oh, meant to say, read on Trixibelle's post that we should all thank people for reading our posts as they inspire us to keep going. I have no idea if anyone is still reading this but if you are thanks.

I lose the will most days to go on here as there's not a huge amount of feedback (mainly because those that were following me have stopped coming on here!) but thanks to those of you who stop by anyway!

Have a nice day :) xx

  • Hi Sassy,

I don't visit very often, but when I do I always look you up and I have wanted to cheer you on a few times, but I have lost my registration details and couldn't post.

When I saw your message today I decided to set up a new account and cheer you along for the last leg of your journey.

You are a true inspiration, hanging in there despite numerous objects that have been hurled in your path, and the big prize is just around the corner, you are going to finish the race in a blaze of glory!!!

Things had been going pretty well for me, and I have stayed out of trouble, but I have just lost half my income, so I need to get focussed again, before debt starts looming on the horizon.

I am going to set myself some new challenges and start another thread. I am looking forward to it.

  • Hi Rainbow, is it really you!? *rubs eyes and takes another look!!

It's so good to hear from you, it's been too long.

I'm really feeling for you losing half your income, that totally sucks. This is exactly what happened to me this year and it sucked a*s big time :(

I think that the main thing is that if you get focussed and work out what you're doing now you'll survive, then when you get your money back up again you'll have lots of spare cash.

Let me know when you start your new thread properly and I'll follow it. Be great to cheer you on too.

Thanks for stopping by and for the kind words. I'm not sure I'm a true inspiration but thanks, I'll take that for today. I'm convinced I ramble on here way to much and that probably bores people - much like I am now! :)

So on that note, have a great day, lovely to hear from you and look forward to reading your thread soon :) xx

I must admit I read lots of diaries but very rarely comment as I never can think of anything constructive to say but maybe just a little hello there would help so you know that people are interested

Families getting touchy with one another when elderly relatives are sick is par for the course unfortunately. I think you were right to respectfully say your piece too though!

  • Morning all

Nice to see you hear again! In response to your comments:

Trixxibell: Yes the cases are sturdy and even better come with a 10 year warranty so I've a feeling in 9 years time they may break! Who knows. They've finally been put away upstairs though as I had them in the sitting room just so I could smile to myself whenever I saw them. Best thing was I put them away nicely up there then a few minutes later got hollered up by Littley, who as you know has upstairs as her play area, with the words - oh, thinking of leaving these here are we!? lol Mummy's child much? When I went up she'd rearranged things and now they're nicely away. Trained her well :)

I'm actually £81.88 away from paying it off so nearly there. It's driving me mad though as I'm very much an even person, as in the tv/radio volume has to be on an even number, the tins in the cupboard need to be in even rows and my bank balance has to be an even number. So taking my balance down each day to the next even is lovely (has to end in £5 or £0, none of this 2 or 3 quid nonsense!) but it means my savings has pennies! Aaaarrggghhh!!!! So ridiculous I know.

Sidenote: am I the only person who when I put in 2p to much petrol then fill up to the next fiver rather than have a 2p on my receipt? Oh, just me then lol

Whitefeather & Trixxibell: Grandmother is now on medication that is making her delirious which is a worry but she's in the right place. They doctor told us he wasn't sure what was wrong with her and when we mentioned the pneumonia she had last week (when she was discharged!) he hadn't a clue about it. Now that was worrying! I told my mum not to go last night as the poor woman is run into the ground atm and needs some rest but I think I'll be taking her tonight. She went in the day of the rows and my grandmother didn't mention it at all and was nice as pie. My aunt had been in between me & mum and I would imagine grandmother said I'd been in and what had happened and they both actually listened.

Grandmother's happy and mum's happy and that's the main thing.

Think that's it for today. I've heaps of work to do which is marvellous but also means I can't go lie in a bath and dream which I would dearly love to do. I'll do that tonight :)

Have a great day everyone :) xx
