It certainly is but I've put it into the emergency pot for the time being as I think I'm going to be a bit skint this month. There's now £80 in there and my aim is for it to still be there at the end of May.

I've just popped on here to buy a few presents for Littley's birthday (already saved for) & I found out my friend's daughter wants a dvd for her birthday which is only £6 on Amazon - bonus!

Have a good evening! :) xx

  • Evening everyone

So, got my friend's daughter's birthday present last night for only £5.30 as well as 2 presents for Littley for only £12.75. Both were through sites I use often but this time I went to them via nectar's espend so I got some extra points for nothing. This is even more helpful as Littley has mentioned some clothes, accessories & bedroom stuff that she'd like and in the double spend offer at Sainsb*ry's I can get most of it. I have near enough the same amount of budget left in the savings account as I do in nectar points and so am going to spend the points on the presents therefore getting more for my buck. The money in the savings account will stay there and be put towards the Christmas budget. We had a look round today and I got some odd looks taking photos of what she's asked for. But at least now I know what to look for!

I've also put in some proposals on some more jobs today as well as advised on a proposal for a PR firm I do work for which, if it comes off, will include hours for me too. Fingers crossed everyone!!

Finally, I've put another £6 today into the pot so that's building up brilliantly.

Now off to catch up on some Johnny Depp - sadly on the tv and not actually here but hey, it'll do!

Have a good day tomorrow everyone :) x

    Morning all

Checked the old bank account this morning and realised I'd forgotten to take into account my food shop at the weekend - how I don't know!! Luckily I haven't gone over my spending allowance for this week but definitely a wake up call to add receipts to the spreadsheet as soon as I get home. It's going to be a tough one next week but I'm sure I'll manage.

Put a tenner into the sealed tin yesterday so although that's good for the pot it's a bummer for my purse! lol Ah well, we live and we learn.

Have a good day everyone :) xx

  • Hope you enjoyed Johnny Depp;). It is so easy to let the odd expense slip through the net and muck up the budget, no matter how careful you try and be. I have fallen prey to that a number of times. I am glad you can salvage things by pulling the belt in another notch. Us MSE'rs should all have 16" waists from all this tightening x.

  • Hello lovely

It's been a really sh*tty day today so the thought of us all having 16" waists made me smile so thank you!

My dad has been having some health issues for quite a while and this week they've gotten really bad and he's been off work. That makes it sound quite mild but if you think I'm ahem-hem years old and I can NEVER remember him being off work that may put it into perspective for you.

So today has been spent with me trying to calm him down and make him comfortable, trying not to take over from mum but doing most stuff as she physically can't. Trying to keep brother in the loop, having the most ridiculous conversations with inept doctors receptionist and also with ambulance staff. Highlight of the day was Littley coming to cuddle me as I spoke with another idiot behind a desk as she thought I was going to hit her (I wouldn't have) and then Littley saying "I don't like this lady as she can't be bothered to help Grandad" and therefore shaming her into seeking further help. Littley's reason? I love my Grandad and the doctors should help him. Yes baby, they should.

Anyway, sorry for the rant. All a bit vague I know and I also appreciate that there are many medical staff who do a fantastic job, they just fail to work near me!

Here's to tomorrow being much better for my dad. :) xx

Oh Sassy, that sounds like a very traumatic day. I think that you do need to be assertive with medical personnel, these days, and it sounds like Littley has got off to a flying start, as always!

It is good that your dad is surrounded by people who love him and are are determined to get him the best possible treatment.

    Thinking of you all x.

    Morning all

Thanks for the words of support re my dad. I went to see him this morning and he is able to get up and move which considering he couldn't even stand without shouting in pain yesterday is a huge achievement. However, I've woken up with dreadful back, shoulder & leg pains/aches due to attempting to hold him up & sit him back down. Did I tell him this? Did I heck! It's just nice to see him smiling again. I did however tell him about Littley's defence of him at the doctors and I think he was secretly chuffed at how much she cares about him. He's a soft old sod really and will do anything for anyone. He's got my bro & 2 of his other grandkids coming to see him this weekend so that's something for him to look forward too.

In other news, totally forgot I had to do a handover to my old client this morning so had to do an extended one once I'd remembered to compensate. Totally annoying but the positive is I'd forgotten how much I enjoy training other people and how good I am at it - yes that is my own trumpet that you hear blowing!! I may start looking into ways I can do training again, although I think if I do it will be through a company as doing it for yourself is so much hard work & can be financially limiting too.

Finally, got another fiver from surveys which I'll add on to the pot when I actually have the money. But another £6 has gone across today so that's awesome. Oh, also got my gas & leccy bill and they're slightly less than I thought too. Had already budgeted the full amount so the few quid will go into the pot.

That's enough of my ramblings today. I really must do some work so speak later.

Ave a good afternoon everyone :) xx

    Afternoon everyone!

Well today has been a good day which when I woke I wasn't sure if it would be.

Went to see my dad and he's improving so much already it's brilliant. Although he's still in a lot of pain it's a lot better than it was and he's been getting about today. The main thing is his frame of mind which is in a much better place and he's in quite good spirits considering.

I have finally received confirmation of when my car payments were to start and it appears I have already put 2 months worth aside so when this payment goes out I will be a month in credit - as it were. This is great as it's nice to have the buffer there if ever it's needed but the even better thing is that I've actually got my backside in gear and organised the paying of it. Usually I'd get that letter and go *!$% !!!!

Finally, I've just been to Sainsbury's and bought £70 worth of presents for Littley's birthday and it cost me the grand total of £8. How happy am I!?!?

All in all a great day, bring on the weekend!!

Have a good weekend everyone :) xx
