Morning everyone
New week and a new month and time to start getting back on track for the saving!
I've just realised that I haven't updated my debt balances so will do that later when I've a bit more time but I'm not sure they've gone down too much.
More importantly, I worked out how much it will cost for flights for our trip and I do believe I'm just under £100 away!!!!! Soooo excited it's unreal. That is just for the return trip though so everything else has to be saved for but the plan is to go into the travel agents in first week of the summer holidays and book the flights. I can then work out what else we want to do and go from there. I've already decided on a lovely posh hotel for a night to spoil us as well as some other bits and pieces. I'm so excited it's unreal! I thought I was a lot further off than I am so whoop whoop!!
Anyway, that's enough for one day. Must go do some work to pay for the rest of things so have a nice day everyone

Evening all
Today has officially been a rubbish day where work has gone wrong through no fault of my own so I won't get paid, I couldn't book the holiday because the company the agency uses have stupid and different rules to the travel agency regarding payment and I feel pants.

Evening all
Just popping in to say hi as not been on here for nearly a week, although looking at the rest of you not many of you have been either! lol
Not much has been going on. I'm in the middle of discussions about a new contract but we'll see. We're walking to school each day and we're making sure we do everything to get that extra few quid.
I've shoved a load of stuff on Gumtree today as I realised I've enough rubbish to sell but not enough to car boot. Hopefully something will go.

Nah, I've been pretty bad at keeping up with the diary lately. Things have slipped a bit but hey!
Fingers crossed for the new contract for you- let us know what happens with it! And good luck with Gumtree too. I've never had too much luck selling on there but it's worth a shot. Lots of people seem to do well selling on Facebook too, though I've never tried it (I don't like the idea of all my contacts seeing all my junk, ha!)

It's too nice and sunny to write on here isn't it! lol
Last night I took Littley shopping as she fancied fruit salad for dinner and we got the budget stuff rather than the nearly budget stuff and saved £1.65 so that went into the pot. It all tasted fine but because we've had some strawberries off our plants that were gorgeous we've been spoilt! We've got a load more ripening atm and it's a now a case of getting them in before the fox/cats/whatever else lives in the garden eats them. I'm thinking we're going to have to plant some more for next year for sure!
We've also walked to school every day this week so far even when we've only had 10 mins to get there. It's an 11 min walk if we rush and usually I'll go nah we'll drive but I'm determined we won't drive to school at all this term. Mon & Tues were full of "why can't we drive?" whines but today I got "can you wake me up 5 mins earlier tomorrow please?" which shows it's rubbing off on her!
I've not sold anything from Gumtree yet. It's so weird as I have a hit & miss ratio on it but my mate always sells. I got her to sell my Playbook for me and that went pretty quick and I had a heap of enquiries so if this stuff doesn't sell I may sweet talk her into writing whatever magical words she uses on mine.
Well, I better do some work I suppose. It's so warm today and the garden looks welcoming, the kids are out playing in the school so can hear them all giggling and in between the birds are singing. Sounds so idyllic I could puke! haha

Morning all!
On the off chance that there is anyone out there reading this I just wanted to share the news that yesterday Littley & I booked our holiday and we're actually going to Oz next year! To say we're excited is an understatement. And the best thing is I managed to get some discounts too so all in all a great deal was made. I'm now starting to save the spending money. Cannot wait!!

Littley has asked me to work out how many days it is before we leave so we can do an official countdown but I'm not sure if it's a bit early! We're so going to turn into holiday bores
I've decided I'm not going to tell her school we're going til about a week before we leave. Because of flight times & costs it actually works out we're away for 4wks & 3 days so she'll prob end up having 3 weeks off school instead of just 2 but sod 'em! A fine is only what, 60 or 120 quid? And what she'll learn over there will far outweigh anything she learns at school.

Ok, so have done a little working out of money for our trip & I would ideally like to have £1000 by the time we go for spends plus I need another £305 to pay the last bit of the holiday.
From today there are 279 til we leave (I gave in and looked for Littley's sake, honest!!) so that works out at £4.68 a day. To make this easier I think I'll round up to a fiver a day.
Therefore I am now closing my £6 a day challenge - which generated £385 in 63 days, an average of £6.12 a day - and opening up a £5 a day challenge. This includes weekends - argh!! Before now this would have had me trembling at the thought but seeing how easy it was to save on the £6 a day challenge I know I can do this. Seeing as I put in £70 today I shall be starting this tomorrow.
