Quick update!

I've just sold some things on Gumtree which have raised another £20 plus saved some money in Sainsbury's on multibuys so have put both in the tin. This means after 1 day of a £5 a day challenge I'm already at £27.15!

Oh, and I've decided to do the day numbers as a countdown to help build my excitement! As if I need any more encouragement! ha

Evening all

Just a quick update to say hi and see how everyone is. Not much to report. I'm waiting to be paid so will see if that's this week or next - always a fun game to play NOT!

I have just bought travel insurance & paid for a passport renewal though which I paid for with my money and not the bank's so that's a huge well done for me!

Saved pennies here and there and as you can see the £5 a day challenge is going great guns. Lets hope it continues that way!

I don't know how you manage to do the £6/£5 a day malarkey! I really doubt I'd be able to do it, you need to rub off some of your magic on me!

I have no idea how I do the £5 a day challenge either but it seems to be working. I think the main thing is that if I don't put the full fiver in I don't panic as I know I'll have more going in on another day. So long as I'm always on target (ish) I'm ok!

Thanks for the praise though, sometimes it's really needed!

Morning everyone

No walk to school money today as it's teacher training. However, we're going swimming instead so may shove something in there for doing some exercise. Must remember not to join in Littley with the donuts though! lol.

Have taken a look at the old budgets this month as haven't changed any but then again haven't paid them any attention either! This month I've overspent on food, petrol & other. But combined it's only £47.64. Considering "other" includes travel insurance & a passport renewal whilst petrol has been ridiculously high with so much travel to the hospital (my mum's been really ill but is all clear now - yay!) I'm surprised it's not higher. The groceries, clothes & luxuries are still under budget although we'll be spending more today due to the swimming. Which is a treat for Littley who on her first swimming lesson was quite scared and yet 4 weeks later got her swimming certificate, so proud!!

I've also worked out next month's money & appear to be £200 up which I don't understand but there you go. I've checked it several times and don't think there's anything missing. Just really odd!

I've also got a regular MS gig starting which will bring in some money for the aussie pot as well as putting proposals out for more work. As soon as it comes in it goes straight into savings so it's like I never had it anyway.

Morning all

So it's been a funny old day already and it's only just 11am!

Noticed yesterday that I wasn't receiving any work emails and on further investigation the company I use to host my site has stopped paying the bills so my domain name wasn't renewed when it expired on Wednesday. I now can't get anything renewed or transferred as it's not in my name and the guy is avoiding them. Not really sure what to do as this is work and I need to access them. Have already missed a few important ones from Littley's school and that's just the ones I know of!

On a better note. I have 2 invoices due today, 1 has already been paid and the other is waiting to clear so that's awesome. Means I can pay some bills and put some money into the pot. It's already building up nicely but if I don't get this email situation sorted today I could be missing some work (I doubt it but it's nice to think someone wants me!).

Not much else to report so will update signature to reflect 1 payment so far and money into pot then do the rest when other payment comes through.

It's so nice to have you back although as I said on your thread, not in these circumstances!

I'm so chuffed that we've booked the holiday and Littley keeps telling me each day she wishes she could pack so she's learning an important lesson in patience! I spoke with a teacher friend of mine the other day who told me about ways you can get your school to allow holiday in term time so hopefully they'll approve my request but if they say no then fudge them as I'm going anyway!!

My emails still aren't working and the place has been shut all weekend and I know for a fact I'm missing emails for work, Littley's school and important info about afterschool clubs. It's driving me insane! I've managed to get the company to let me renew my domain directly so I'm now the owner of it rather than the middleman company I was using. But the emails aren't sorted yet and can't be until tomorrow at least. I should sue for loss of earnings but the bloke I'd have to sue is bust so no point! Plus tbh I can't be bothered! lol

Anyway, must dash as got to go beat my dad at Catchphrase!

Haven't been on for ages but you are doing brilliantly. I also think I would struggle with saving £6 a day but plan to start next year when I have got the money sorted to pay back my loan.

Thanks for the praise - I don't accept it often but I'm taking this with both hands! lol I've somehow managed to get quite a bit ahead with the £5 a day challenge so I've got a bit of a buffer if I have a tight day/week and I'm now doing a few bits and pieces to try and boost it up. I'm trying to put everything extra that comes in straight into the pot so that way I don't miss it.
