Tongue in cheek.... but there isn't a smiley for that one!The only thing to do with good advice is to pass it on. It is never of any use to oneself. (Oscar Wilde);)0

Another fab idea for Tesco's!...Livery!!!
Obviously, being a high horse you want to get on, you would have to pay more!....a Shetland Pony might be cheaper!
Anyway...glad I didn't incure your wrath;)The only thing to do with good advice is to pass it on. It is never of any use to oneself. (Oscar Wilde);)0 -
Findaproperty and Primelocation are both owned by the Daily Mail group, who of course own the newspaper that published this article (Mail on Sunday).
Unfortunately, the Mail's journalist appears to have got a number of facts wrong about this story.
Findaproperty (who like Rightmove deny access to their site for private listings) have sent a notice to all their agent-subscribers strenously denying that they are in any way supporting Tesco's home service.
It seems likely that Primelocation will also follow suit - which leaves you wondering just what the point of this article was.
I suspect Eve McGowan will be carpeted by her bosses for getting information about her own company so wrong and it begs the question as to what else about her exclusive is actually correct...
Tesco have been connected with a possible intro into the housing sector for two years or more, yet we await any firm action. They and others are certainly circling the market and some large organisations are definitely set to enter the fray this year, whether that includes Tesco remains to be seen.
If the article is to be believed, the Tesco offering doesn't seem to offer anything innovative, which is a little suprising, but then again, you can't expect journalists to conduct proper research before opening gob.0 -
Employees have been offered a special rate of £49!
No rightmove though so may not be quite as effective . . . . . . . . . yet.0 -
We're moving out of a rented house on Friday, into our first 'owned' house.
So, this evening a guy from a local estate agent came round to 'view' our rented property to advise our landlord on what price rent to charge for his next tennants (our landlord isn't local).
Anyway, while this guy was here, I mentioned about Tescos getting involved with the house selling process and suggested that estate agents may go the same way as our traditional green grocers went; ie defunct.
His answer was a bit clipped; he basically said he couldn't see how Tescos could take over the role of an estate agent and he didn't think it would work.
But those guys who run Tescos aren't daft are they; so I think estate agents could be in for a rough time of it; that makes me smile!0
