When Andy writes on here just imagine that its what it looks like and feel just a little compassion.

well just because they are new to MSE doesn't mean they are new to message board life in general or the internet? All message boards/forums are pretty much the same so hardly amazing.

I think she means knowledge about certain posters on the forum. Many "new users" seem to have in depth knowledge of the regulars. It may well be that they've spent a long time lurking of course, but it's rare for new users to enter the Arms, and DT in particular, immediately upon joining MSE. I'd been here for some years before I dared venture down that part of the board!

Plus, they wouldn't actually have had access to the Arms as a lurker unless they were already registered under another username

Ok thanks I see what you mean Yes I can see that would be a good indicator.

I've not read the Arms at all will have to go for a nose

I thought your personal PC's IP address always remained the same. What if you have a few PCs in the house does each have a different IP address even though they're all using the same router.
