Can you guys get a large list of troubleshooting for me by any chance? Or maybe link to some helpful info that has this advice? If I test things one at a time I have to disturb my mum every day!
Google searches just land me on old forums or unhelpful BT FAQ pages that try to sell me Infinity.Hi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards. A full troubleshoot for a BB customer takes me ten minutes maximum (unless they are really technically challenged
) -why don't you just call BT and go through a trouble shoot with them once ?
Before you start -change the filter (and you're already in the test socket so stay there) and check to see if the speed is equally slow both wireless and with the ethernet cable connection (you still haven't said if this is wireless only or a problem with ethernet connections too )......and then ring. You're making this far harder than it needs to be.
No point in giving you a long list -with troubleshooting it will depend on the result at each stage . Why haven't you just rung them ???? You don't need to disturb your Mum every day .....just do it once but do it right

I tried it via ethernet cable Duchy I followed these steps: http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/
(I also tried wirelessly previous to this and it was as slow.)
I'll call BT then - I was reluctant to do so straight away as when we have issues at work and call them they just try to flog us InfinityHi. I called BT they said that they have reset the line and I should check the speed again in around 3 days time. Hmmmmmm.
We'll see!
He said I should only expect 1mb speeds anyway. I told him this is pathetic but no point taking it further with him now may as well wait til the 3 days and speak to retentions!Hi. By the way, does anyone know why it's saying the maximum speed is 1mbps?
And how I'd get that increased?Hi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards.
