I would say, only if you've got a job first. The current climate ain't good for job seeking or good wages - and that won't help the depression either.

It is going to be my final year next Gemmzie. I agree that it isn't the best time to consider work but even with a low paid job I could clear nearly, if not all, of my debt.....

Maybe I could hunt for jobs and if nothing turns up then I can carry on with uni as anticipated.

the other thing is that you might have to explain to prospective employers why you took the break,

I'm not convinced your plan is a good one for two reasons:

1. you are so near to finishing the course
2 it is really hard to get back into studying after taking time out.

Hi everyone,

It is 90% certain that I'm going to take a year out and earn money/gain experience/sort my head out.

I have been so unhappy lately it is ridiculous. I need to get myself to see my GP for some happy pills.

I won't be going to the Leeds meet now

*hugs* I get that. I was there last week and now I've found my ideal job - if I get it I go back, if not I don't - it's up to fate now.

Hope the pills settle in okay, if you ever wanna PM me about it do. The first couple of weeks can be wobbly (I'm back on them from mid Sep, not taking the risk).

Thanks everyone, very kind of all of you.

I'm not sure which pills I will get but I'm looking forward to them - they definitely helped me last time. I really thought I wouldn't need to go on them again when I came off of them...still, I guess that is how depression is. I've never had a proper evaluation of my mental state - those things can be done, right?

Have you had an interview Gemmzie? Hope you get the job, fingers crossed for you.
