Sarah,
Please don't take it as hostility, we're all on the same side and everyone wants to help you and every other Newbie beat the Parking Scam, honestly we are all kind people, it's just that some adopt the (tincy bit) cruel to be kind approach.
We all had to learn about parking scams in the same way, so please don't feel stupid or that you have to apologise in any way.
Now, back to the real issue, just follow the advice and your ticket will be cancelled, guaranteed. All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. Edmund Burke Irish orator, philosopher, & politician (1729 - 1797).0 -
I would second the above. It is easy to spoon feed what to write and sometimes, I have seen the regulars do so, when they feel that someone really is struggling to get to grips with the arguments to use.
However, this may not always be the ideal solution as it is far better to actually know what you are writing in an appeal or saying in court as just repeating templates will almost certainly land you on your !!!!.
Believe me when I say I can remember what it was like having twenty plus tabs open over two laptops sometimes. The simple thing to know for now is lodging a popla appeal and concentrate on what arguments will give you the best chance there. Look at the thread at the top of the page of popla wins. Search for your particular parking company and car park. Once you've done some research, then ask for advice on what you have found, and ask for explanations on things that you may not fully understand.
I doubt anyone will seem hostile when they have seen you have done a bit of homework for yourself. Honestly, the regulars here really do put themselves out to help complete strangers who often disappear without even a thank you.0 -
i totally understand the frustration, i just felt it was being taken out at me for asking a question... I don't do well with confrontation, and had anxiety over this ticket, as i am not made of money, and when i asked a question i was met with a very confrontational response. It isn't my fault those old feeds are still coming up, although (i'll point it out before you do coupon mad...) it was my fault for not seeing the date.
I'm not expecting it on a plate and for anyone to do it for me. You all seemed so knowledgeable and when i thought i had blown it by announcing i was the driver, i thought you would be able to quickly say yay or nay as to whether i could continue to fight this. thankfully i now know i can and i am grateful for this.
Cruel to be kind doesn't always help... it can upset. Just for future reference.0 -
Sarah,
You did seem to get a lot more flack than most most Newbies usually do, for no obvious reason. However I'm glad that you going to fight the ticket, rest assured you will get support from here. All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. Yep with another look here, she did take undue flack; I think we must have all got out of bed on the wrong side - sorry Sarah! It was mainly Sarah's bad luck - she didn't know she'd posted on an ancient archive thread, probably THE thread that we most HATE to see bumped and have despised it and littered it with pleas not to reply on it, for about two years! We can help you win at POPLA.

would anyone be willing for me to PM my letter for opinion before i send it?0

Can you not just post it here (redacting personal/identifiable info) for review and comment?
(If you've done it in Word, copy and paste to Notepad to remove any formatting issues, then copy and paste into the reply box here).0 -

Sarah, You can post it on here, Parking Eye will see it soon enough, and it won't be anything they haven't seen, and lost, 100 times before. All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. Edmund Burke Irish orator, philosopher, & politician (1729 - 1797).0 -
Thank you!!
I am disappointed with your response to my initial contact regarding this invoice number *****
I disagree with your invoice, and dispute it. My dispute of this invoice is based on the allegation that your invoice isn't a genuine pre-estimate of loss to the landowner or yourself. You are trying to charge up to £80 something for your clocking of 23 minutes.
As explained in my initial email, my son had become unwell and was sick on his clothes and also fell in a puddle in the rush to get back to the car in the stormy weather. I had to change his clothes, clean him up and get him warm again, so as not to encourage sickness to build. It would be irresponsible of a company to harass a mother of a young child who needs to be sorted out when he’s in need like this.
In every case where a motorist has raised this issue, POPLA have accepted the appeal. You are therefore fully aware that there is no prospect of your charge being upheld.
If you do reject the challenge and insist upon taking the matter further I must inform you that I may claim my expenses from you and my time at the court rate of £18 per hour. The expenses I may claim are not exhaustive but may include the cost of stamps, envelopes, travel expenses, legal fees, etc.
By continuing to pursue me you agree to pay these costs when I prevail.
Please issue your cancellation or if you with the pursue this matter, please supply POPLA code within the next 10 days. You didn’t respond to my initial contact in very good time before. I would like to ensure you do this time otherwise it will be your fault that responses are not made within your laid out time frames.
I look forward to your response as soon as possible.
what do you think? I keep re-reading it thinking i may have missed something?0
