LondonTiger, do you every think about all the issues and confrontations you describe on here and wonder whether it may be you that has a problem?0
-
Lets not forget that the OP uses his ow car for his business and i seem to remember he doesn't have the correct insurance cover.
And also uses those short term hire vehicles for his business which appears to be delivering highish value goods and is almost certainly not covered on the insurancd of these short term hire vehicle.
I assume he need good in transit insurance as he is carrying goods for financial gain.
Agree with all comments.
OP you are going to get yourself hurt.
Anu current or ex Police or Ambulance (large urban area) staff member on this forum will have been to calls when road captains such as yourself have got themselves in an awkward situation.
And then panic and either call 999 before or after they get a good kick in.0 -

I was in lane 2, gave way to the car in lane 1 that has progressed further down the road than me [the front of my car was probably next to his rear passenger].
Behind that car I gave way to was a bus roughly up to the B pillar on my car. So bus should slip in behind me.
The 4x4 behind me should have given way but instead it aggressively lauched forward keeping a 2ft gap behind me to stop the bus from cutting in.
thought that was unsportsman like so decided to stop and hold the 4x4 back.
There was enough room for the bus to still get into lane2 in front of me. So I rolled the window down and waved him forward. Bus drove on and cut in front of me and stuck his thumb up out the window and put his hazards on as a thank you.
Proceeded to give way to 2 more vehicles from lane 1 until 4x4 got irate and slammed his horns. I had places to go so drove away :rotfl:
Why do some people feel the need to be a grade A twazock, when driving, OP, I'm talking about you here.
The other driver did nothing wrong, next time, it may be a police car you decide to annoy.0 -
It's at times like this I'm really glad I don't live in or have to endure London or the S.E. of England.
It appears to be a very selfish and arrogant place to be.
The old saying that the Thames is the back passage of the country and London is a few miles up it certainly rings true at times!:)0 -
I'm confused. How does all this save me money?0

The 4x4 driver did do something wrong - if that bus was sitting with right indicators on, he should have given way - that's in the highway code. I'm just not sure whether londonTiger gave the 4x4 driver a fair chance to REALISE the bus wanted out, and act accordingly. If you started moving, then stopped again, with him right up your toot, you were risking your rear bumper as he won't have been expecting you to stop again...0

For me, giving way to a bus would depend on a few things. The Highway Code isnt one of them.
If it was law, it would be different.0 -

You either do it to a unmarked BMW x5 police vehicle and they give you the book.
Or you "disrespect" someone like Kenneth Noye and end up in a body bag.
Either way, just minding your own business is the best option.
Give op the book for what?0 -
The trick to driving in Central London is to not let people cutting you up bother you.
Try having a laugh to yourself at their poor driving, the chances are you will catch them up at the next lights anyway so their poor driving achieves zero
Allow more space for other cars, if one is going to cut you up they will however much space you leave so if you've left that little bit extra it won't effect or annoy you so much.
If you drive frequently in Central London you learn to predict what apparently random things drivers will do and make allowances for it.
I do the Christian driving and let people out and people cross
Seriously try letting it go over you, it really makes driving in London easier.0 -
Op do you get offended by people overtaking you as well?0
