Hurray to chucking things out and making pots of money from free offers
Its a beautiful, beautiful day here, lovely warm-looking blue.
I was trying to keep all my banking info for my main account in one place, and I've ended up a tiny bit confused ... all the security questions get very fiddly, sigh ...
Anyway, I'm not going to do that now - I had a *rotten* sleep, 3rd out of 4 nights, and my brain will seize up completely if I do that. So I'll start out with the writing - how to tell where north is from seeing the sun and knowing what time it is ... and then the stencils. Bit of clearing up in the garden too, because its so lovely out there, and while I do that the computer can back itself up2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
It's sunny here as well, the weather is being kind so far this autumn.
Sorry to hear you didn't sleep well - I had a bit of a strange nights sleep last night. I dreamt that I was back at a work desk I sat at in about 1983, and lots of mortgage files were piled up in front of me and I couldn't remember how to do any of the work.
I don't know what it means - it's probably because I'm thinking about banks and financials at the moment.
Good subject for writing - one of the things I like about cruising is that the sun is in a different place everyday, so you are very aware of your place on the planet, and can work out which direction you are travelling in.
Have a good dayEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Hi there!
That sounds a horrendous dream! 1983 … I was working in Export Finance, at the edge of the City, and I couldn't get to grips with transactions in 2 or 3 currencies – I was supposed to calculate the profit, and buy it forward in the correct currency, and I never quite took it on board. Started working for a charity soon after, phew …
My writing was a tiddly thing in the end – but its the detail, as ever, thats got me confuzzled. Daylight Saving Time has an effect, and lifehacker says:
“if you practice daylight saving time, you should subtract one hour from the hour hand.”
whereas wikihow says:
“use the 1 o'clock marking on your watch as your benchmark, rather than the 12 o'clock mark.”
which surely means they're saying add one hour?
Sigh …2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

No. In the first instance, you are using the hour hand. In the second instance, you are using the hour mark.
So, if it is 1pm BST, the actual hour hand will point at the 1 o'clock mark and the "minus one hour virtual hand" will be pointing at the 12 o'clock mark (as it will be 12 noon UTZ)."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Thanks Z! Once I went outside (and thank heavens it was sunny) and actually practised, it was fine, I could understand it on a gut level ... I think I'm a really good choice to write about this stuff because its so hard for me to understand, I *have* to translate it into normal English2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Well, its grey and drizzly here this morning, to make up for yesterday's sunshine! Nothing too horrendous on the horizon, according to the forecast.
Ta-da list for yesterday, more or less:
- bit of clearing up in the garden. I've found where I can plant the garlic, a friend told me he had his in the ground two weeks ago!!!
- posted confirmation letters for the ISA changes I made last week.
- finished the writing, even wrote the first draft of the ending. Feels a bit weird.
- yet more tidying and cleaning, as my monthly meeting with my business partner is here today.
- more faffing about with swa gbux - I'll be glad to finish that, I get addicted to computer games *so* easily, and swaggie site really doesn't help ...
- backed up the computer to the HDD. Need to do the flash drive now.
- slight problem with the 2nd exchange for matched betting: another payment has left my account and ended up with them, I know why its happened, but I've got to be careful not to do that again.
Now I need to go through the writing once more, set up a blog as its home space, and find out how to publish an ebook. Had a quick look round yesterday, and Amazon don't seem to have anything that goes "do this, press that button, you're set". Nothing that didn't have a corrupted page, anyway. Will look properly today.
And stencilsI'm free to do the stencils now

It's very dull and damp today. You have a very sensible cat - I wouldn't venture out in this it I was a cat!
You hear all the time of people publishing their own ebooks, so there's probably instructions on how to do it somewhere - it's just finding the right place.
Sometimes I miss having instruction manuals, where you can just flick through and find the right page. It's never quite so easy to surf until you find what you want ( I am a closet Luddite!)Early retired - 18th December 2014

I so agree, Goldiegirl:T
I'm not so much a Luddite, rather someone who likes the convenience of being able to refer to instructions etc whenever I want and wherever I am. I frequently print off reams of instructions when the manual is online-only. Paper copies will never be dead in this house:o0 -
Blue skies here in sunny Yorkshire! Sounds like a productive day yesterday - well done on the writing! And good luck today. Are you publishing for kindle via Amazon? Try this link for uploading https://kdp.amazon.com/help?topicId=A37Z49E2DDQPP3&ref_=gs or this one if you need more detailed help on getting the book ready: https://kdp.amazon.com/help?topicId=A17W8UM0MMSQX6
Good luck!0
