That's a familiar name ... that would be good to do, you're right, Goldie, thanks. I'd definitely like to earn about £50 a month of free money :) without *going* anywhere, like I used to do with mystery shopping.

£9 "earned" today - an £8 voucher at Waitrose, and I used part of it to get another £1 off the dishwasher tabs :)

The rest of my Wilko order has arrived :o and I haven't dealt with either of them, oops. There's a lot of shopping round here to disperse :D

I tend to average about £20 - £30 a month in 'extra money', from things like Quidco, Santander cashbacks on expenditure on utility bills, the £3 Halifax reward, limited Halifax cashback offers and good old eBay.

I still do a bit of eBaying for my friend but it is a slog these days. If I put things on auction, they tend to sell at the first bid, so I tend to just do Buy It Nows in the hope that a buyer turns up. These days, there's so many places to buy and sell, it seems as if eBay has lost popularity. In 2010 - 2011, at the height of my decluttering, I could have about 20 parcels to post on a Monday morning! I'm lucky to get one these days.

I still do You Gov. I got to 5000 points in October, so was able to get my £50. I'm now up to 475 points, so at this rate, it'll be at least two years until I get to 5000! Hopefully Prolific will increase my extra money earnings

A result on the Waitrose voucher !

  • Woot, well done on the Waitrose voucher! Just imagining you surrounded by bags of deliveries. :)

Thanks guys - yep, there were quite a few bags :o but all the cardboard is in the recycling bin now (except the bit I rescued to put under the tin of paint!).

The paint ended up as quite a story. The local Dulux centre sold 2.5 litres for £20  I needed it, had the energy to use it, so I bought it.

Wilko sold 5 litres of Dulux paint, exactly the same spec, for £12. £12!!!! The delivery charge was only £4, and I had 70 litres of topsoil and compost as well as 5 plastic storage crates. Astonishing.

Off on my travels with my sister this morning, hopefully I'll be back before the bad weather closes in again :)

Happy New Year's Eve to all :)

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Very well put, CBC - we're all working for a more secure life financially, and a happier one too, but it's really crucial to remember how much we already have

    :kisses3: Thank you!

I vowed I'd start a new diary in the New Year, especially because of what SL has said about threads being deleted. I'll post a linkie here when I do.

    Happy New Year.
