    :D

Well, I'm used to being ignored by guys like that, at my age, so it gave me a giggle :D

I also had a smile a bit later - my builder *hasn't* disappeared off the planet, he agreed a starting date of November 13th, just under a fortnight. I'll have to remind him he offered to drop off brochures and whatnot - I don't mind if he just sends pix, I'm easy, but I want something a bit visible before I spend thousands on new fences and gates and whatnot. It's good news tho.

So now, preparing for being turned upside down, and having them all in and out of my house, can start in earnest _pale_ Really glad I've done what I have over the last few weeks.

Hooray for being checked out and the builders coming soon! Just focus on how lovely it will be once the work is done (it's hard at time, I know, but you'll get there!)

This is surprising too - no ill effects at all! I'm ecstatic at that :)

    Hiya! :hello:

Yep, still here - it's my comfort zone, and the format suits me :) plus I still have a fair amount of financial jangling about to do to set up my retirement finances. That isn't going to quiet down for maybe a year, unfortunately, so I still have a way to go.

Morning! Apart from making my own lunch to take out on my trip today, nothing financial is happening :o but me and my sister are off to an apparently very well known quilting shop, to see if they'll finish off one of my mum's quilts, that's going to my niece. We have a slight disagreement on this, as the shop sounds **extremely** snooty to me - they won't simply finish it off, they'll only do their preferred system, which means unpicking all the layers my mum has built up, finishing off the quilting on the back, and then put it all back together.

We'll have a look-see at a town that's out of our usual range, and an experience at a shop thats *definitely* out of our range :rotfl:so it can all be chalked up to experience :)

Maybe I can stretch to opening the post when I get back :rotfl:

KC, Mrs E has asked me to get replacement pads for our plug in diffuser thing, but I'm sick of Johnson and Johnson being robbing gits! I'm thinking of using an aromatherapy diffuser - can you suggest oils for congestion? Plug in uses lavender and chamomile, but Amazon has loads of other options. Looking for a reasonably potent home bogey busting combo :D

My post is still lying in the hall too, beanie :) though I have to get my act together downstairs today, because of the builder coming round on Monday 13.

The shop was brilliant  the actual craftworker was very willing to take what our mum had done and run with it to finish it, without unpicking anything. It was a real privilege to be able to see her workplace, the looms (computerised, 11 feet long!) and the different options she could offer. Hundreds, literally! And the town was amazing too, it's a third of the size of my town, but it's got ten times the shops, antiquey, specialised (like the quilter) and all sorts of things. I thought my town was well off, and it is, really - but this was special, it was brill.
